Supply Chain Co-Op Interview

Supply Chain Co-Op
Englewood Cliffs, NJ (US)

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Unilever in September 2012.

Interview Details Unilever came to my university's career fair in Spring of 2012. I talked to a representative about the opportunities that existed in supply chain. After a few minutes, she asked for my availability for a next day interview, and it was immediately scheduled. I showed up to the on-campus interview the next day, and was placed in front of 2 interviewers for an hour long interview process. They started with behavioral questions and one situational question. At the end, they asked for a preference in location, which depends on your job specifications. The next day, I received a phone call with a verball offer, and then a few days later, an email with more details.

Interview Question – It was your average interview.. No new surprises   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negociation, they provide you a stipend for housing, and a monthly salary.

Interview Details They came to the career fair at my college and I was contacted that night for an interview the next day. I was interviewed by a panel of 3 women, one was clearly the manager or "higher up" and took notes on her laptop and the other two were recent graduates who worked in the area I would be working in and asked the questions.

I applied through another source and the process took 2 days - interviewed at Unilever in September 2010.

Interview Details Got the interview via an oncampus career fair. Only 1 round of interviews, was the day after I talked to them at their booth, and was on-campus. It is behavioral based, so brainstorm key situations you have been in. Googling the STAR methodology and questions to prep will help you for the interview.

Interview Question – Unfortunately, I don't remember the questions as the interview was several years ago, but they were pretty standard.

A question you can almost always expect to have that is challenging is "Tell me about a situation in which you had to deal with a difficult teammate."

Negotiation Details – Negotiated to have more time to decide. The initlal decision period was 1-2 weeks, during which I still had more interviews lined up and wasn't comfortable making a decision.

Interview Details Very quick & easy way to get a position, either in the SCMP or co-op program, is to talk to recruiters at Career Fairs. Often times they do interviews for these positions the very next day. Interviews are usually with one or 2 people, and are fairly standard interviews.

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Unilever in November 2010.

Interview Details The phone interview was very simple.. Behavior based and the interviewer asked questions about Unilever such as how familiar are you with Unilever... It was more or less them explaining to me what Unilever is all about.. After that was done, he asked a couple of behavior questions such as, what would you do if you were the leader of an incompetent team.

  • What are some of the reasons why our product is not on the shelf at a store?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – No negotiation allowed.. Keep your options open.. don't accept offers right away. When you're a co-op unilever pays about 16-18 per hour depending on your seniority level. Even though they do pay per hour, think of it as a a salary position. More than likely, you will work more than 40 hours a week and you will not get paid for more than 37.5 hours a week.

Overall it's a great learning experience.
