    Great company, great people,

Business Development Manager (Former Employee) Edinburgh, Scotland

Prosthe people in general were great; products cutting edge, good work life balance.

Consthe management don't seem to be able to understand when and where to invest in their business. They sold off so many business in the Telecoms area when really they just needed better management and more support. Could have really dominated in that region with better management.

    Aging Company

Account Manager (Current Employee) Dallas, TX (US)

ProsAs a young engineer in sales, there is a lot of opportunity in the older generation retiring. There is a lot of expertise and experience available

ConsThe company has an aging mindset and doesn't seem to be able adjust to getting, cultivating, and keeping young talent. The people that stay are complacent.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe open with employees about career planning

A technology company with a constant business perspective

Product Marketing Engineer (Current Employee) Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

ProsWorking culture is generally positive. There are occasionally opportunities to move within the company. A constant emphasis on business ensures sustained investment in the company by shareholders.

ConsJust as all other public listed companies, every investment, human resource included, needs to have its cost justified. This might cause the organization to make decisions based on short term objectives at times.

Agilent Technologies- a good place to work, but struggles a bit to adjust with the volatile market.

R&D Software Engineer (Current Employee) Wilmington, DE (US)

ProsOverall a good company with a nice working atmosphere and facilities, knowledgable experienced employees for most part. Flex hours allow for a nice work/life balance, pension and 401K, profit sharing, and reduced medical benefits.

ConsPay not the greatest, but comparable. Upper management runs the business based on politics for shareholders, not customers or employees. Gross mismanagement at the upper level with failed acquisitions/outsourcing and corporate greed. Too much emphasis on bean counting and not enough on quality, customer satisfaction, or employee retention. Top share of Life Science marketplace is in jeopardy due to these poor policies and decisions.

Advice to Senior ManagementNow that the 'split' is over, turn the focus from cost reductions back to quality, and customer/employee satisfaction. Do more research or investigate fully before any future acquisitions. Profit sharing has been in the toilet since the latest mergers, and wages have been stagnant for some time, but CEO's and boardmembers continue to enjoy ridiculous salaries and bonuses.
