    Manager

Manager (Former Employee) Fort Myers, FL (US)

ProsThe pros to working at Avis: You receive a company car and gas for now. Good health insurance coverage.

ConsSome of the cons are upper mobility. Old fashioned mentality, all who you know in the right place at right time. Work hard with no advancement. Upper management will applaud you but will not advance you. Lot's of promises with no action.

Advice to Senior ManagementActions speak louder than words!

    Great training but terrible micromanagement

Rental Sales Agent (Current Employee) South San Francisco, CA (US)

ProsAvis provides top quality training to it's associates. I learned so much through the 6 week training as well as shadowing others. Good money if you work in a high foot traffic location such as sfo.

    ConsTerrible management.
My sense of morality disappeared for awhile.

All the hours you could want, for all the wrong reasons...

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) San Antonio, TX (US)

    Pros- Friendly coworkers
    - OK benefits

    Cons- Not necessarily managed well
    - Management & supervisor inefficiencies caused a lot of extra work, but nobody willing to work it for same reason
    - Not willing to work with everyone's schedules
    - Some room for advancement, but you have to fight those already in place for it

Advice to Senior Management- Consider termination or shuffling of those who are "buddy buddy" with everyone due to tenure, management and associate alike; these attitudes cost time, money, and cause high turnover.
    - Consider doing what's best for operations, not what's going to make you friend(s)

So far the job is fulfilling, a lot of great colleague's that don't mind being helpful to the "new person".

CBD (Courtesey Bus Driver) (Current Employee) Romulus, MI (US)

ProsThere are many great opportunities the company has for their employees, there is room in the company for you to grow and move up.

ConsJust that the way they have things set up as far as you being a new hire, scheduling is not all that great, most if the time you never know your days off until the new work relief schedule is put up, a day before or last day of your previous schedule. Nothing nice!

Advice to Senior ManagementFind another way to fit new hire's on the schedule without them feeling like they probably won't have a life working with this company.

    Great Family/Work life

Pricing Analyst Level II (Current Employee) Parsippany, NJ (US)

ProsManagers are Fair and the benefits are decentt. The work/home life is great. They really value family and family time. They have flex hours in the summer to get home to the family. They have floating holidays and let you leave early the day before a holiday.

ConsTraining was almost non existent. The salary is on the lower end compared to other companies. They lack support for growth in certain areas. We have the ability to work from home, however they do not allow it unless it benefits them (like working after hours or on weekends)

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement generally has good communication with employees, certain areas in the company do not promote growth within the company. The company in certain departments has a high turnover rate.

Company is ever-changing, which is a good thing, but has been challenged to see things through before acting.

Corporate Sales (Former Employee) New York, NY (US)

ProsI enjoyed the freedom to manage my workday the way I saw fit. As long as you are performing, they give you a longer leash typically.

ConsFollow through on strategy and not enough sales training courses. More recognition and positive reinforcement needed. Budget truck rental is poorly run and deserves better as the cash cow of this organization. Overaged fleet with poor customer service.

Advice to Senior Management"Live in the moment" more and really celebrate the victories. Don't just ring a bell.
