    Pros

If you like to be busy, this is the place for you. They have good customer focus and best of intentions, but poor execution. Career opportunities are great - but only if you are mobile.

    Cons

People are leaving in droves without having another job. The HR department is the worst I have ever worked with. And many of them are the ones leaving. It says a lot about your company when HR can't even stay.

    Pros

Lunch....and that's about it. Oh yes, driving around some of the vehicles

    Cons

The union and the old rules they carried. The older employees...and I do me older were full of drama and very horrible people behind your back. They would do and say anything to make the younger employees look bad

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow orders and have unsatisfied employees or be more lenient and have upper management on top of you.

I have been working at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Willing to listen to your ideas and suggestions and willing to help you relocate should you decide to pursue a career and move up in the company.

    Cons

When the opportunity arises for promotion to another location, even if the other location deems you qualified and wants you, your direct supervisor can decline the transfer if they don't want to have to find a replacement. Does this mean this practice is rampant in the company? No, just what myself and a few other colleagues have experienced. Management pay is not very good. There are some hourly employees making better than managers. Which explains a lot of turnover in this company in management. For what you are responsible for, you are under compensated. HR could be better, I've outlived two HR managers in FL which is not a good indication of the direction they are headed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better training in the MTC for Union locations and structuring of bonus structures for locations where management feels a better incentive to work on VOTC and CSI. VOTC portal needs to be re-evaluated and structured so that one-way rentals that receive bad feedback do not hurt the other location that was not involved (i.e. Bad return should not affect pick-up location) and see how much more responsive VOTC captains respond.

Former Employee - Analyst in Parsippany, NJ (US)

I worked at Avis Budget Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - The culture was laid back including business casual dress code
    - All summer you get out of work at 2:30 (obviously you need to make up the time during the week)
    - Enjoyed the people I worked with
    - Great cafeteria
    - Easy commute

    Cons

Major disappointment was the HR department. They are so concerned with their own little projects and goals that they fail to meet the most important goal of HR, to take care of their [potential] employees. They rarely answer emails and if you finally get a response, good luck getting an answer to a follow up. The only way to get anything done is to go down to HR and knock on somebody's door. It's almost like Milton from Office Space!

Another con would be the somewhat bland working environment. Pretty old school looking cube farm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to get on the top 100 places to work list, get better HR employees that care about your workers, not themselves.
