Current Employee – been working at CSG Systems International
Pros – Decent pay, challenging work, good benefits & vacation.
Cons – The reviewer that commented "no rhyme or reason to layoffs" certainly hit the mark. They seem to have gone on unannounced without pattern or end for years. Unlike other layoffs I've experienced no explanation was given for the vast majority of them and no "end" ever announced.
The comments about the acquisitions are things I've heard & felt more than once as well.
Advice to Senior Management – Nothing to add to what's already been said.

Former Employee – worked at CSG Systems International
Pros – Certain locations seem to be more protected from constant layoffs. Acceptable benefits, 401k, pay.
Cons – Good old boy network. People live in fear of losing their jobs, making staying of task difficult.
Advice to Senior Management – When you acquire a company, do not try to completely alter the direction of it. That has not been successful.

Current Employee – been working at CSG Systems International
Pros – Company is very flexible and there is a good work life balance
Cons – During my tenure I was able to apply to different positions within the company however, I never received an interview. I had a few other co-workers experience the same thing. There should be a better career path defined for the employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to provide support and informing employees on current happenings in the company

Former Employee – worked at CSG Systems International
Pros – Solid company - they have been around for a long time and are profitable. Large enough that there are at least some advancement opportunities, but small enough to be somewhat agile. Very focused on taking care of customers. Great people, especially in customer-facing roles.
Cons – Stability, which is good, but also makes it somewhat boring. Promotions are hard to come by, at least in the manager-director levels (perhaps because it's a conservative-minded midwestern company and folks like their jobs just enough to stay). Biggest customers continue to demand more and more from CSG, and the company tends to try to do more work with the same number of people, which can lead to burnout.
Advice to Senior Management – Do a better job of career-pathing your top performers - establish more formal employee development programs. Take some risk by growing the business outside of cable in a bigger way than the few small mergers they have done.

Former Employee – worked at CSG Systems International
Pros – Working in a consulting group probably didn't give me the best impression of the rest of the company, but my group was full of smart, talented people who prided themselves on doing a good job.
Although my travel schedule was at times brutal, there was no punching the clock when I was home. I could work from home whenever I wanted and nobody minded.
The benefits seemed comparable to what I could have gotten at any other area company.
Cons – Although my group always remained the same, it seemed like there were constant re-orgs above us.
Advice to Senior Management – If you want people to stay at the company, you have to train them.

Current Employee – been working at CSG Systems International
Pros – Casual work environment. Flexible on work schedules. Goal-based work attitude. The people are generally very nice to work with. The general attitude and corporate climate is positive. Most people are competent at their job. The computer policy is liberal, that is, things are not so locked-down you can't do your job. But really, the casual dress is the best thing.
Cons – Very lethargic in innovating and developing new products. Not open to new ideas and improvements in business products and processes. Close-minded. Very bureaucratic. Most of the time, it seems like ideas are solicited, but then are tossed aside due to lack of support from management.
Advice to Senior Management – The senior management talks big regarding "innovation" and "performance", but is not supportive of bottom-up ideas that could save the company money and increase revenue. I would recommend supporting experimenting with alternative hardware and software systems that aren't IBM.
