    Pros

They have great focus on health and well being of their associates. Competitive pay, and benefits also.

    Cons

Cerner can be a very demanding place to work. Some roles don't seem to have enough work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Poor people skills in management go unnoticed.. I've seen some very cruel people in authority. Leadership training would benefit many.

Current Employee - Software Engineering Intern II in Kansas City, MO (US)

    Pros

The team I was on was great. We went out to eat every Friday and they were very flexible on hours. From what I have experienced, my team members would work around 45 hour weeks on average. Some of the team would only work the normal 40 though. Overall I enjoyed my work and my environment, especially the in-house clinic and gym.

    Cons

Starting out it may seem a bit like you have no say on a project. Some engineers are not very concerned with modern programming practice or design and it can become a bit disheartening.

They should make the existing consultants permanent than hiring freshers into the teams

    Pros

Massive national and international growth, flexible, young, dynamic, creative culture. Lots of learning opportunities. Strategies aligned with industry and government trends, strong competitive advantages, exciting infrastructure expansion plans.

    Cons

Lack of diversity at leadership levels, mostly white males from the mid west. Compensation growth not comparable with Sylicon Valley's average justified by lower cost of living in Kansas City.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote more diversity amongst leadership positions to grow the pool of experiences, ideas and points of view.
