    Did not provide a timely response to a hazmat health issue

    ProsIt is an international company, perhaps the adventure to other countries, cultures, however the market is changing, expect a reduction in positions overall.

    ConsLack of response from headquarters, even after I emailed the CEO about the issue. I requested a change of work area from local management, that was denied. It was a health hazard to all workers, including other military groups, and contract company employees. I heard in the aftermath, people have issues talking, are coughing, have headaches. Why do large corporation, supposedly experts in the field lack adequate procedures to prevent future health issues that their employees may experience. Not my idea of a company with great values, and the values they say is there operational foundation.

    No training in my field of IT. Corporate headquarters was not timely in IT issues, in adding support to overseas base. The management does not have the skill or the knowledge to adequately create an efficient and effective IT service level. No training in my field of IT.     Advice to Senior ManagementI advised the management, never heard back. The CEO was replaced, however I doubt it was due to my email. Does management read this.... I doubt it.

    Workers make companies money, why allow future suffering from health issues?

    Favoritism, Racism and Management incompetence.

    ProsOnly the pay was good but not on Par with other companies doing defense contacting

    ConsI worked for them for 2 years until April 2014 I worked in Kandahar and Camp Leatherneck.
    I found a lot of Racism , A lot of favoritism, a lot of incompetence especially among management.
    They had a policy of anti- American hiring quota's and practices.
    They strived for 80% Foreign nationals and 20 % Americans. I found that to be unacceptable since they were billing the US government for that and the US taxpayer had to foot the bill.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet Rid of your racism, get rid of your favoritism, Hire Americans first and offer Americans some better living conditions and better pay. Most of all put people in management that are qualified and have college degrees.
    and don't tell me I am a liar because I was there and saw it first hand.

    No room for advancement for women

    ConsNo room for advancement for women. No training. Key positions filled by friends and family, not qualified personnel. Job postings are rigged, only opened for 1 day or closed and reopened so the people who applied the first time are no longer in the running. HR is a JOKE, no educational background or training to even be in HR.

    Advice to Senior ManagementHow about look at people who have been with the program for the total number of years and not just in the same payroll company before deciding who has longevity or not.

    Some of the worst management

    ProsPay is decent looking from the outside in, but once you are in you receive more and more tasks.

    ConsSome of the worst management. Employees are belittled, micro-managed, and at times harrased and it is accepted by Human Resources. Retaliation is also a fear all employees have. Management sticks together even if proven wrong. Human Resources is there to protect management and the company NOT the employee. Company is all about metrics instead of taking the time to take care of the customer. This company is also all about who you know. Opportunities are given to only certain people.

    Pros"None" There are no perks, personal growth, or any other pro's for the regular and contract employees

    ConsThe training with this company, there is none. The compensation is when you have relationship with the Regional Managers, Site Managers, and Directors in order to be promoted. This company does not value their employees at all. Military personnel that are without rank are mistreated and the civilians are treated even worse, if a Supervisor, Manager, Lead, and/or Senior does not like them for whatever the reasons. Even if reported to HR it is not followed through professionally because those in charge are friends with HR and it does not make it to the process of helping out the employee that is being mistreated. What happens overseas is unjust and if a true HR Manager from other companies could see how contractors are treated regardless of their race and culture and religion. The Project Managers' should go out and talk to the lower paid employees (whether it be Americans, or Foreign Nationals (India, Bosnian, or Africans); employees are being misrepresented by this company and their Management in charge. The Foreign Nationals are being scared into losing their jobs and not being able to support their families. Managers not even knowing how to respond to emails or compose a letter or instructions to be sent out to their employees and/or Upper Management. There are no standardization in policies, instructions, Standard Operation Procedures, and HR being bias. There is not enough of pay for the treatment that is endured by employees, no values, as well as exceptions as to the ways of speaking of what you go through. You are forced to sign all of these forms to say that you agree to put the company in jeopardy of losing contract for satisfaction of the company, but yet they forget about the little people who actually perform the jobs and put their necks out daily. There are not modified protection for the Foreign Nationals or Americans when put in danger or a dangerous situation. The emails go out but there are no set offices for the persons to go and talk to Employee Relations or Investigators without the Manager or Regional Manager knowing before you do because of HR releasing information to them for warning. There is nothing good about this company, even when speaking with people/friends that work stateside.

    Advice to Senior ManagementCEO, stateside Directors, and Project Managers need to visit overseas more and have one on one with employees without the overseas Management being in site. Listen to the people that make you the millions of dollars in bonuses each year!!

    A huge disappointment.

    ProsThe good thing about DynCorp is... I don't know; frankly, that's a very short list. The paychecks come on time, and I think that pretty much sums it up.

    ConsIf the long hours and hostile environment (these are givens, since the work itself is in Afghanistan) aren't enough, you have to contend with rank incompetence at all levels of management. Cronyism and the "GOB" network rule the day. Failing that, people who can bluff well rise through the ranks at blistering speeds, while competent people with actual records of accomplishment are marginalized to the point where the former taking credit for the efforts of the latter seems normal. Blatantly abusive supervisors and "problem children" are shuffled throughout the project, instead of being demoted or fired for their offenses. Petty territorial fights over jurisdiction or responsibility are part and parcel of an average day with DynCorp on the LOGCAP project. Plumbers and pest controllers are elevated to site management positions, yet retain territorial preference for their own former bailiwick and biases against other functional areas, as well as an ignorance of those in more highly skilled functional areas.

    Advice to Senior ManagementPay for better people. Given that you're paying well below what most of the other contracting companies have been paying, it's no wonder that there's so much strife throughout the project. You're paying below the average for the area, and so you're getting largely the dregs of the contracting world. You get what you pay for, and trash is cheap. Additionally, changing vacation policies without grandfathering in those who've already been approved for vacation is the kind of slipshod nonsense one would expect from a shady sales company, not a multibillion-dollar government contractor. Lastly, the benefits package you offer is atrocious. Your competitors largely offer much better packages for their employees than you do. Our plan is garbage, and smacks of someone in HR getting kickbacks; seriously, a company of this size and the best we get is a benefits package that would look thin coming from a company a tenth this size.

    I left DynCorp after 18 years, it was time to go due to Upper Management holding the workers hostage to their whims.

    ProsThe pay was pretty good, but it recently has declined due to upper management trying to cut corners at the employee's expense, they still manage to hold on to their bonuses. They had a very good health insurance plan.

    ConsPromoting employees to management with no management experience, overall arrogance of upper management.

    Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of the "good ole boy network".

    Upper Management is Abusive

    ConsIf you have any integrity or skill, you WILL be replaced.

    They hire old, used up generals and affirmative-action square-fillers who bring in their own yes-men. It is entirely unimportant to do a good job; just smile a lot and hope your boss doesn't have a buddy looking at your job.
