    Good company to work for.

Process Engineering Manager (Former Employee) Camberley, England

ProsLarge and high calibre peer group. Provides access to a great amount of technical standards and guidelines. Technical support from various centres the world over is truly amazing.

ConsSome of the senior staff are well-entrenched for years and seem to view new staff as threats. Group meetings of project staff are rarely held. Project work force tends to be too large and unwieldy.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to bring in fresh thoughts and break up the old-fashioned heirarchical functioning.

    Great Company to work for

Project Information Manager (Current Employee) Farnborough, Hampshire, South East England, England

Pros- Very process driven organisation - but thats not a bad thing in this case
     - Fairly flat management structure
     - A high focus on technical competence on employees and delivering that to clients

Cons- Limit to how far/quickly you can grow if you are not an engineer
     - You may be stuck with a duff project and not be able to move on until the project is over, or you leave the company

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    First job out of college

Associate Design Engineer III (Former Employee) Aliso Viejo, CA (US)

ProsThis was a great first job out of college. They were able to provide good training and real life experience. The pay was very good for a first job.

ConsThe work comes and goes and when things are good they are very good and when they are bad you get laid off. You figure they pay you extra to compensate for the fact that they may get rid of you after your project is over.

    Great place

Senior Specialist, Material Management (Current Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsFlex-Time, every other Friday off, great community relations program

ConsJob Security is based on the current demand for primarily Oil & Gas, if demand goes down you might not have a project to work on....to me, that is kind of scary

    Great Company

    Procurement Manager (Current Employee)

ProsFluor has provided a wide range of opportunities for me though out my career. For a large Fortune 500 company, Fluor has provided a flexible work-life balance environment and encourages personal growth. Any cons are outweighed by the pros.

ConsBeing a leader in our industry, Fluor takes on some of the biggest, most complexed projects in the world. If you are part of project execution, there are many challenging obstacles and the stress that is associated. However, I find myself never bored.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize talent and do a better job retaining that talent.
