    I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace

    Pros

The internship program in the financial reporting department was great. It provides exposure to many different areas. I learned a lot from all my fellow employees. Even as an intern I had the ability to pick my own work schedule within reason. I was able to work half days on Fridays which is a huge plus.

    Cons

The only con was the commute after work. There are thousands of employees that get off work at the same time so the roads and highways get very congested after work.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    Great competitive salary
    Friendly environment
    Minimal supervision

    Cons

As an intern, I felt like I wasn't taught or challenged enough. It was a great place to get my foot in the door to the professional world, but I would've liked more work. This can be a pro though since you get good pay for little work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check in with your interns more.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Co-ops and interns get great incentives. Furnished apt. is provided at a VERY low rate ~200/month.

Engaging program. Plenty of opportunity to network. You learn a lot.

Savannah and Tybee beach are fun.

    Cons

Occasional mundane tasks, slightly underpaid, co-ops get preferential treatment over interns, lack of strong work procedure can be frustrating.

Savannah isn't for everyone. It's hot and southern.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Too many meetings and metrics.

I worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Gulfstream Aerospace is a great company, 4 10 hour days is a bonus. Compensation is very competitive with a great match in 401K that is immediately vested. There are a lot of learning opportunities with classes offered and other programs.

    Cons

There tends to be silos when working with different department. It can be difficult to get information/help from other departments as a lot of employees have been there for awhile and are hesitant to helping.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage cross departmental interaction to continue growing company.

I have been working at Gulfstream Aerospace as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Being a part of the production of the most innovative and top of the line aviation.

    Cons

Long hours are included, the pay is hourly so this could be a positive or negative thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management rarely communicates with the assembly crew. I urge them to better network with the guys on the floor which will help the company grow in culture.

I have been working at Gulfstream Aerospace full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Gulfstream sets the world standard for business aviation products and services. Heavy investment in R&D will help ensure market leadership for many years to come. Leadership understands that superior Customer service sells new aircraft and grows the ecosystem. Heavy product demand and margin provides corporate financial security. The leadership developed an internal company culture model that is reinforced through training. Salaries are competitive. Gulfstream actively supports the local community. Military veterans are welcome. The company is growing, a rare thing for a domestic based manufacturer.

    Cons

As the company grows, agility is a challenge. Change comes slowly. Organizational silos impede opportunities for cross-functional continuous improvement. Check out the local school systems before accepting a job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find creative means to enable the company to operate more efficiently cross-functionally. Define and implement end-to-end processes that can span across organizational units to unlock increased business value.
