    Pros

Reasonable salary at higher levels. Interesting work. Opportunities to be creative and come up with new ideas. Lots of interaction with colleagues around the world. Good colleagues to work with.

    Cons

Senior management inexperienced about the industry. Lots of firings. Can be fired in a heartbeat, irrespective of performance, particularly if you get a new boss. Lots of politics. Very US centric.

    Advice to Management

Recognise, reward and retain the people who deliver results.

    Pros

Great opportunity for self-starter. Those who are able to navigate through ambiguous situations and possess a drive to seek answers and solutions will be successful at MoneyGram. Industry regulations are constantly changing and it is a great place for those who want to improve processes and make a difference. The company is seeking to improve their benefits in order to attract talent. I feel that MoneyGram does encourage work-life balance. The environment is friendly and makes you want to come to work.

    Cons

The company is adjusting to a lot of changes due to relocation strategy and regulatory requirements. Benefits are currently not up to par with larger firms, but they are improving.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work in hiring people who are the right fit. MoneyGram promotes a positive work environment driven by qualified, pro-active, creative, diverse, and compassionate individuals.

    Pros

Salary was on higher end. Generous benefit packages. I had good team that I worked led by a good manager. Technology and technical knowledge were on the advanced level.

    Cons

The organization was broken down into functional silos and managed well within the specific silo, but communications, collaboration, common vision, and teamwork across the various silos were usually weak if even existent. Executive management tends to make quick reaction to information as presented to them. The information presented does not always have the full perspective on the topic and decisions are made without full understanding of the potential impact or costs.
High personnel turnover. In 3 years I have had the each of the 3 levels of management above me change at least 3 times.

    Pros

The company has a great team of talented people with no shortage of revenue growth opportunities. The company strategy is well aligned to the changing market place.

    Cons

With a rapidly changing marketplace for its products and having many opportunities to capitalize, MGI must continually work to maintain focus and execute well.

    Pros

The people are the company's greatest asset...some of the best I've ever worked with.

    Cons

Communication of changes can be more effective and in a more timely manner.

    Advice to Management

Rethink the decision at some point in the future of outsourcing the call center to a foreign country.

Office culture is unique. People for the most part are trying to do what is right for the company. Benefits are ok.

    Cons

Lack of communication and clear direction from the leadership team.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more clear direction from leadership. Seems to have a lack of ownership on projects. Lack of agreement among leadership on what the priorities are for the business.
