    Pros

    The people at NRC are the company's greatest asset. The people at NRC work hard, with integrity and respect, and they are accountable and generally work in a very cohesive, team-oriented manner. The office culture is positive because of the people. Clearly NRC has done a good job of hiring people who fit the culture. The work has meaning and purpose, as we seek to help healthcare organizations improve the experience of their patients. The work-life balance is very good. Life outside of work is valued just as much as hard work in the office.

    Cons

    The direction of the company is unclear. We've experienced big changes recently (example - COO resigned), and the future of the company's leadership and the structure is a bit up in the air.
    It's appears sales folks are valued more than service folks at NRC. While service is valued for the great work that is performed each day, the compensation received (not received) reflects that service is not as valued as sales, in spite of the very important role service plays in retention and upsells.
    Technology is not what it should be at a company like NRC. Using old systems and databases that are not necessarily conducive to the ever-changing landscape of healthcare and need to provide clients with the tools they need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    In addition to providing quarterly financial updates to associates, which is nice to see (even at a high level), it would benefit associates to have more transparency from leadership in regards to the direction the company is headed.

    Pros

    Friendly company culture. Allowed to set my own hours and work around other commitments. Knowledgeable supervisors were always eager to answer questions pertaining to work processes.

    Cons

    In interviews it was stated that after three or four months they would be willing to look at transitioning me into a different full-time role within the company, which would better utilize my acknowledged broader range of skills. After two months of lauded work, I was informed by HR that this process definitely would not begin for "at least nine months." As the Operations work was fairly tedious and not something I enjoyed, I left the company shortly after.

    Be more honest with prospective employees and don't overlook underdeveloped talent.

    Pros

    Great first job for college grads. Get the ability to travel throughout the US and get experience working with senior level people in healthcare systems. Able to develop great sales knowledge and presentation skills

    Cons

    Senior leadership has been changing a lot lately making it difficult for anything to move forward. Also takes up to 3 months before you receive commissions.

    Pros

    -Good work-life balance
    -Relaxed work environment
    -No micro-management
    -Decent compensation
    -good working relationships

    Cons

    -Constant reorganization at mid-level management and above creates unstable work environment
    -401k match is a joke at .25 % company match
    -Service is often stretched very thin with too much work, not enough associates to complete it, and hiring freezes on top of that
    -the annual associate engagement survey seems less aimed at actually improving work lives and more geared towards appeasing associates with "small wins"
    -propriety software that supports the biggest portion of business is outdated (created 15-20 years ago) and senior leadership is in denial about the needed systems overhaul to stay competitive as a business
    -complete lack of formal training program for service associates; managers and supervisors with already full plates have to create and implement training programs for new associates

    NRC needs to step into the 21st century, technology-wise, and provide associates with adequate tools to do their job in terms of software used to create client deliverables.

    people and teams were wonderful, always felt like I had the support of other people.

    Cons

    financially and very sales focused.

    Pros

    The company fully pays benefits and holds annual reviews. They have good corporate communication and community involvement. The company is growing at a fast pace and has a positive reputation within the industry.

    Cons

    This company does not have a good work/life balance. Average work weeks are 60-70 hours with no real reprieve. Much focus is put on 'Error-tracking' rather than positively reinforcing successes. The culture is sales-centric with little to no recognition for the relationship, client facing or service side. Wellness assistance is also not provided.

    Senior Management needs to listen to employees. They need to staff adequately to contribute to better work/life balances.
    Recognize relationship and service staff, rather than solely sales.

    Fun Place to work, lively group of coworkers, drink beers every friday in office, get to do a lot of traveling

    Cons

    senior and junior management are not very good to employees. Take a long time for management to get back to you. The hiring process was about 3 or 4 months

    It's an OK place to work if you like corporate politics. Free beer on Fridays.

    Gossip is blooming, frequent lay-offs, employees are not valued, no sense of stability.

    Pros

    The co-workers to name a few who you respected and enjoyed working with everyday.

    Cons

    No praise and recognition or treatment of employees as they matter. There is a motto NCR feels proud to promote on logos, ending of emails etc.. Integrity, Fairness and Respect. I as well as most of my fellow coworkers thought it was a joke because we felt none of these 3 qualities does NCR embody.
