I worked at Regions Financial full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great Hours. The shifts were pretty good. Off on Sundays. Early Saturday morning hours.

    Cons

Too Sales Driven. You got penalized when you didn't meet your sales goal. They pushed everyone to open new accounts even if the people didn't need them.

    Pros

Corporation seems to actually care about there employees. Pay scale is good. Benefits are great.

    Cons

Sales goals are lofty and products are average. Charge fees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The sales staff would be able to reach goals if we didn't charge so much in fees and were more competitive on rates.

I worked at Regions Financial as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Friendly management,co-workers, some on the job training. Opportunity for advancement if you show willingness
to learn and become part of the Regions team.

    Cons

Very "old school" and not quite up to date on internal policies when compared to other regional banks in the area.
Small presence in the Dallas, Texas area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is Texas, not Alabama, Need to upgrade your attention to employees as well as customers,
if you want to compete with the bigger banks on the block.

I have been working at Regions Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I've worked for this company for over 5 years. The atmosphere is great. There are a lot of wonderful associates. The job isn't difficult if you are willing to work hard.

    Cons

The pay is not great, especially if you are promoted within. The company has gone to a more sales approach, where it is very pushy. Banking has changed a lot in the last few years and I feel like Regions is trying to figure out how handle the change by throwing a lot of different micro management procedures at their associates. In return, morale is being lost and people are leaving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out an approach and stick with it. If you are constantly changing how you want us to do things, we will stay frustrated. It's hard to stay positive when we don't know the direction we're going in.
