Very Good

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Siemens

ProsOne of the best reasons to work for Siemens MT is the excellent travel opportunities and the advancement within Siemens' different divisions and not just MT. The place has excellent support structure with regards to colleagues supporting you. Flexible working hours and an understanding management are also excellent features.

ConsSimple things can be made quite complicated when working for Siemens MT as there are a large number of procedures that staff have to follow. This is helped by the fact that there are staff that are there to help you on these tasks.

I worked at Siemens full-time for more than 10 years

ProsThe perks were great. They did there best for the group but few participated. I think some folks felt as if they didn't fit in.

ConsFelt as if you were a number not a name overall

Project Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at Siemens full-time for more than 10 years

ProsDiverse offerings, challenging environment, good colleagues

Consaverage salary, do more with less, staffing standards leave something to be desired (minimum staff, so when someone takes vacation or leaves there is a noticeable gap)

Financial Leadership Development Program

FLDP Intern (Former Employee)
Iselin, NJ (US)

I worked at Siemens as an intern for less than a year

ProsGood work being done, was able to get experience with Excel. Was exposed to some good work material. Very easy going culture.

ConsLittle oversight and some of the work at times was dull and not too exciting. Some of the management was not helpful in changing the program and didn't know some of the information. At times they did not care or want to fix the problem. Exit interviews were not coducted.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdd more structure to program

Life Changing

Senior Engineer (Former Employee)
Worcester, MA (US)

I worked at Siemens full-time for more than 5 years

ProsSiemens is chocked-full of top-talent and world-class management. The leadership development candidate program (LDP) is amazing. I worked with approximately 20 of the LDPs and they were almost all top-talent. Siemens has access to capital and incredible infrastructure at its disposal. The project management and engineering institutions are remarkable. The Siemens Production System is a top-notch program ran by top-talent who really understand lean and this is improving productivity. With 167 of rich history Siemens is one of the best companies in the world. The Worcester, MA facility has some of the best people I've ever worked with and the culture there is truly amazing. With Joe Kaeser at the helm I think Siemens will excel in the 21st Century. I would return to Siemens at the drop of the hat for the right opportunity.

ConsSiemens is a financial institution not an engineering or project management firm. As a matter of course they tend to mismanage M&A programs. This is especially apparent in the way they delved into the mechanical world (VAI and Flender) and didn't foster them to the extent necessary to ensure the success of the mechanical units (all of VAI and the US part of Flender). Also they divested their IT business and sold to ATOS which stressed IT services.

Advice to Senior ManagementStudy Toyota. Focus on quality (real quality not just QA). Eat, breathe, live lean.
