I worked at Sogeti full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    some people were nice
head office in London city centre
    office easily commutable

    Cons

    the management
    the hr team
    no scope for promotion
    abysmal pay
    no sense of team work
    no work ethics or integrity
    no respect for employees
hardly any projects to send consultants on so a lot of people on the bench while the company continues to recruit more staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruit staff when there are projects to send them on instead of lining them all up on the bench. Company growth is important but so is company revenue. There's no point employing people for the sake of showing the company is growing while not having any projects to send them on for months at a time.

Former Employee - I Was A Senior Manager With Over 20+ Years

I worked at Sogeti full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

In the unit I worked in the management team was great. They had the contacts in the area to make the sales. When the new CIO started adjusting the sales compensation and how he wanted to go after sales the unit went down hill.

    Cons

No one cared about how work was done...no checking on the staff work...also the benfits were outstanding but the company started to chip away he year taking some away..the bonus program was great while under the control of the units manager but the that was taken away and put under corprate....very poor now

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a new CIO for Sogeti USA and area managers...let the unit managers run the units...

I think the Sogeti CEO needs to talk with the staff at Sogeti USA

Former Employee - Consultant In Digital Transformation in Cincinnati, OH (US)

I worked at Sogeti full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Free soda and coffee
    - Great benefits (401k, profit share)

    Cons

    - Managers are extremely incompetent. When I was hired, I was told that clients were lining up outside the door and projects would be flooding in, so they needed me. After 4 months sitting in a cold, windowless office, I left after getting 0 projects while I was there. The execs don't even try to get digital projects, they are too concerned about P&G and GE contracts.

    - My managers had the poorest communication skills I've ever seen in a professional environment. My direct supervisor had a STRONG Indian accent, I could barely understand what he was saying and his e-mails and texts were even worse. He blamed me for the communication problems, even though several co-workers had told me that they were experiencing the same thing.

    - They hire you after seeing what skills you have, then when you get there ask you to do jobs involving skills you have 0 experience with. You have to learn the skill while doing the job, which makes it very stressful and inefficient.

    - Spread their resources too thin. I was skipped over for some contracts in favor of other, equally-skilled consultants even though they were swamped with work as it is, merely because the manager or exec knew them personally. There's a lot of personal bias.

    - Depressing work environment. The suits in the corner offices don't even acknowledge that you exist, and since everyone is in and out of ATO, you never see anyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers that can actually communicate effectively in English. Change your ATO policies. Use your resources effectively. Don't make false promises to new hires, or you will never change your absurdly high turnover. Get a better work environment for those on ATO, it just sucks. Everyone in that office looked like they wanted to shoot themselves.

I worked at Sogeti full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They first treat your very nicely.
Spend time and money on multiple lunch interviews with several people.

    Cons

Once you are hired the life becomes miserable.
No over time is paid neither in dollars nor in time off.
Attitude of account managers become 180 degree different.
They find you useless in 3-6 months as soon as the contract finish up with the client.
    Poor bench policy.
Focus on quantity of contractors not quality.
This is one of the biggest reason of lack of client trust.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please hire reasonable staff to recruit and keep good people thru better incentives.
Know how to differentiate between good and bad workforce.

    Benefits,Msdn subscription,Laptop,clients,ok kind of leadership

    Cons

Work culture ; Attitude of people; No support

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start paying more attention to other units than just the Headquarters. You need to move people around quite a bit. The work culture is awful. Consultants are only respected if they are billing.

    Pros

You have a job not a career. Company is falling apart.

    Cons

Lack of technology, outdated laptops, no solutions, no leadership, don't appreciate or recognize talent. Don't leave two weeks notice; you will be let go that day. Poor pay, almost impossible to get good bonus. Too many roles for consultant and no focus. Too many technologies and no focus. Run away from this company!

    Pros

No value to employees, they will decide to remove the employees with out giving any prior notice if they have no projects.

    Cons

Worst management, they unnecessarly pull our legs and later no one cares for the employess and if something goes wrong they will remove the employees abruptly.
