Good but not great

Theater Employee (Current Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsWynn is a great place to work because they do offer consistently. There is also an environment that fosters fairness.

ConsIn my current position, there seems to be little, to no advancement possibilities. It also seems like the nail that sticks out gets pounded down.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want to keep your job, then don't try to be a leader. Our two heads run the show their way and want kiss ass managers that will do it the way they want. Kind of sad, but its not a bad place to be if you can stay off the radar.

Not a strong enough sense of improvement.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts part-time

ProsNot bad for Vegas casino standards. Good variety of opportunities if you network well. Strong market position within Vegas.

ConsHiring based on buddy system, not quality of candidate. Lack of accountability, people try to not get fired, not give their best efforts.

Advice to Senior ManagementPersonal improvement. Not just facilities.

It's OK, if you're pretty much settled...

Guest Room Attendant (Former Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I worked at Wynn Resorts part-time for more than 3 years

ProsPeople are friendly
Lots of Work activities
Good food for lunch.

ConsUnless you know someone in a higher position, don't expect promotions based on merit. It's mainly based on seniority and favoritism.

Not the worst place to work

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsBeautiful resort, parking for employees isn't too horrible.
I like what I do and somehow manage to work around all the impossible paperwork and constantly changing policies to get my job done.

ConsUniforms in some departments are extraordinarily uncomfortable (actually painful) and make your job more difficult. No one seems to notice much less care. Management is all about keeping their job they do not care about their employees. Management shows up late, leaves early, takes long lunches, but there is no one monitoring them, ever. No sick days, they are completely inflexible with time off. Benefits have gotten worse and worse. Vision benefits are horrible, ironic? There is absolutely no advancement opportunities in most departments.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou need to stop worrying about being everyone's fake friend and start looking out for the best interest of the people that make your job easier. Work harder or at least as hard as your employees and you will increase moral immensely. I loved my job and then every day watching my bosses play favorites, walk in late, constantly put out fires they created has worn me down. I want to love my job again.

Great company reputation little chance for advancement

Assistant Manager (Former Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I worked at Wynn Resorts

ProsGreat company reputation, which carries a lot of weight throughout the industry. Many perk follow when employed with Wynn not affiliated with the company based on the notable reputation that has been established.

ConsVery little advancement within the company. Minimal wages for jobs performed based on industry standards. The current position the company is taking based on recruiting is hiring from outside as opposed to hiring within.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would advise management to put more emphasis in talent development so that internal promotion opportunities would increase. Additionally, re-evaluate the compensation plan by conducting a market assessment of companies within the industry.
