I worked at Yale University full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I've receive promotions. Benefits are superb. The people are awesome, because you are interacting with people from all around the world.

    Cons

The challenges would be the injuries that occurred at Yale, which could have been prevented, which cause me to have to leave my last position. These injuries occurred because of the errors of others.

I worked at Yale University part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, pay is solid relative to work/life balance, opportunity to take classes, great culture of energy and intellectual stimulation

    Cons

Opportunities to become senior management are limited but mobility is good elsewhere. New Haven is a small city though has most of what you need

I have been working at Yale University part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I think the benefits (retirement plans, health care, etc.) are excellent. I pay only $20/mo for health care for my family and myself. Yale has very good matching for their 403b retirement plan - take advantage of it - it's free money! When I had children I was given what I considered sufficient time off work. I also enjoy my work, it's interesting. And I work with excellent, intelligent people. There's always something happening at Yale (talks, music, theater) and lots of good eating places nearby.

    Cons

I can't think of any. I really love working at Yale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Yale University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are many positives: there is a lot of opportunity for growth, a real collaborative culture, decent pay, and all of the perks of being part of a university community

    Cons

None that I can think of. If you're working on the support side of things, staff/students can be a little over-the-top, though this is to be expected wherever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the great work!

Working here and being a part of this extraordinary university is reason enough. Salaries are decent, but benefits are even better.

New Haven itself is awful overall.
