Interview Details Got it through campus. Asked what I knew about Cigna and underwriting (expecting that I did my due diligence), several behavioral questions such as a time I missed a deadline, a time there was a group conflict, time i needed to simplify and present complicated information and then a series of math questions that were basic percents and fractions and averages with some tough numbers in your head.

Family Medical Leave Manager at Cigna

No Offer – Interviewed in Plano, TX (US) Nov 2012 – Reviewed Feb 25, 2013

Interview Details First step is a phone interview. It consisted of basic behavioral type interview questions, took maybe 15 mins. After phone interview, I was contacted via email for an in person interview. This took place at Cigna with two department managers. Interviewed was similar to the phone quesitons, behavior based, but more detailed. Probably around 10 questions. Pretty easy and relaxed environment. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

The only issue, was they never followed up on if I got the position, like I was told. I had to find a corporate recruiter to find out. I was very surprised because the interview went so well.

Interview Question – Most questions were easy to answer.. Basically were: Can you describe a time when you.... etc.   View Answer

Long Term Disability Claim Manager at Cigna

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Plano, TX (US) Feb 2013 – Reviewed Feb 20, 2013

Interview Details Received a call from a Cigna "talent recruiter", where we set up a time for a phone interview. The phone interview lasted about 20 minutes, and included a few behavior questions. Overall it was fairly easy. I then had to take an online assessment which consisted of some problem solving questions, a personality test, and a call simulator test. This was fairly easy, but the problem solving questions can be tricky if you don't take them seriously. After these first two steps, I was scheduled for a face to face interview. It lasted no more than 40 minutes. This consisted mainly of behavioral questions. Main advice would be to nail down the STAR method before going in to interview.

AEDP Intern at Cigna

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Philadelphia, PA (US) Jan 2013 – Reviewed Feb 05, 2013

Interview Details I applied online. I was contacted about a month later for a phone interview. The phone interview was a combination of basic resume review and behavioral questions. Be prepared for the behavioral questions, they are a significant portion of the conversation. A few days later I was asked to come in for an on-site interview. The interview day included lunch with an "actuarial buddy" who also took me from interview to interview that day. Then I had an opening presentation with the head of the AEDP program. Then three interviews with actuaries at various levels in their career. The interviews were pretty standard, a mix of resume review and behavioral questions. With a couple technical questions thrown in. I got the sense early on that the key things they were looking for were leadership and initiative qualities and a willingness and ability to learn. A couple days later an offer was made. It was a very pleasant interview process.
