CAE Technical Support Tch Spt I at Comcast

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Horsham, PA (US) – Reviewed May 19, 2013 New

Interview Details I filled out an application online and in two hours!!!I was contacted by a recruiter. He asked me a few basic questions... Would I be ok with these hours and salary. I am comfortable trouble shooting basic protocols. I was sent an assessment with simulated calls and a host of personality type questions. I passed and was set up for interview in one week. 2 interviewers... one asked me 4 technical questions, the other asked me 2-3 customer service questions. I missed two of the technical questions but that was ok. They liked my answers and I was offered a position that day.

Interview Question – What port do you change for email? What is the difference between a private and public ip address? How would you handle an irate customer. When is a time you went above and beyond for a customer.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I didn't try to negotiate because what they offered me was about above what the intial recruiter had mentioned. I'm assuming that's based on experience.

Customer Account Executive at Comcast

No Offer – Interviewed in Tinley Park, IL (US) May 2013 – Reviewed May 13, 2013 New

Interview Details I first applied on 4/26/2013 Within days I heard from a Third Party Recruiter asking if i had time for a phone interview....everything went well so I was sent an email about taking an assessment which was a basic Personality test where they ask you Basic questions based on your judgement, honest, and etc. The second part of the assesment is where you practice taking simulated calls to see how quickly you are able to type and navigate through different screens silmultaneously. After I Completed that I got a call scheduling my Group Information Session/Interview. So here is the thing I went May 8th 2013 and the first hour they spend time really hyping you up about the Position...After that they Send everyone in to interview with Different Managers....I interviewed with two ladies while my Friend who happened to be there...Interviewed with Two Men...We were told by the person who did the presentation that they were trying to fill 30 spots for a June 10th, 2013 training class and also that it was 15 people who attended the morning session and also about 17 people competing for these spots in my 11 am session....To make a long story short We both thought we had it in the BAG! I mean I know I rocked that interview...So I was under the impression that they would let you know the same day if you got the job or not....Apparently not because its been 2 days shy of a week and both of us are anxious! I noticed that both supervisors seemed to be impressed and were writing quite a few notes! Towards the end they started asking me About my availability and me being able to work any shift...so i am hoping that is a good sign!!! this was at Tinley Park, Il by the way!!!

Customer Service Associate at Comcast

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Harrisburg, PA (US) May 2013 – Reviewed May 13, 2013 New

Interview Details I applied online and was sent confirmation right away. About one week later, I received an assessment test link which consisted of personality questions and a customer service call center simulation. It required you to listen to calls and take information down. It is also timed.

Negotiation Details – No negotiation at all! But the Comcast benefit package and bonus program is insanely good. The salary that I think I should be paid can definitely be reached with it.

Engineering Intern at Comcast

No Offer – Interviewed in Mar 2013 – Reviewed May 10, 2013 New

Interview Details I was selected by Comcast for an on-campus interview for participating in their Engineering and Technology University Program. The first interview consisted of two interviewers. One was an HR representative and the other was some form of an engineer (probably software). They were very professional and formal. The HR rep started the interview with basic behavioral questions like, "Why should I hire you." Then, we transitioned into technical questions and things got interesting because all of the questions were geared toward software engineering and I'm an electrical engineering student. Despite the difficulties in answering the most basic of software engineering questions, I was offered a second interview with a Comcast location nearby to campus. The interview was for a position that I ultimately did not feel aligned with my career goals. Had I been offered the position, I would have probably declined it.

Enterprise Account Manager at Comcast

No Offer – Reviewed May 06, 2013

Interview Details I was called by the recruiter 2 days after putting my resume into the system. We scheduled a time to have our initial phone screen, and then that was that.

When it came time for the phone screening, I noticed a few of the questions seemed a bit off. When I asked the recruiter about the oddity of each question, she was unable to speak to why. She also had no idea where the office was, or what the details of the job were. She was essentially just calling to read questions off of a piece of paper, and then copy down my answers.

The phone screen lasted a half hour, and she said someone else would follow-up with me if they decided to move forward. The following week I got a VM from the same recruiter asking me to call ASAP. I called her back, and she wanted to know if I had sent my resume in...

Yes, recruiter, I have sent my resume in. She then asked me what location I was applying to, and then tried to confirm that I was applying to a different position than the one that she interviewed me for. I had to walk her through how to use her computer to go online and find the job req that I applied for. She then proceeded to say "Oh, it looks like position was filled a while ago."

Great. Thanks.

Senior Engineer at Comcast

Accepted Offer – Interviewed on Philadelphia, PA (US) May 2009 – Reviewed May 05, 2013

Interview Details Interview process was very fast and smooth. There was an open position for an immediate need. I applied and heard back within the week. Within 2-3 weeks I had an offer in hand without any issues. I negotiated a bit and the recruiter and hiring manager were easy to deal with during the whole process.

Negotiation Details – I negotiated about $3k more than the initial offer as well as a $3k signing bonus. The company was reasonable. I could have pushed for a little more but i was content with the increase in my salary in general.

Business-to-business, INSIDE SALES at Comcast

No Offer – Interviewed in Centennial, CO (US) Apr 2013 – Reviewed May 02, 2013

Interview Details Detailed? Sure, here goes: Incoming call from C-Cast from my CB or Monster CV post. First step: "Skills Assesment", took an hour out of my life. C-Cast called, setup phone interview, typical "corporate" questioning, must provide answers they WANT to hear: "Sure, I LOVE working nights and weekends!". "Do you like people listening in on your phone calls so they can (reef n you and) help you to "develop? "Oh, I love that the MOST!" Another 45 minutes of my life gone, Passing grade, so, Next step: Face-to-face interview. Corralled into an office with three very young sales managers? who peppered me with more typical corporate interrogations, including an impromptu ROLE PLAY! OH FUN! 30 minutes of my life gone, plus drive and GA$ to receive e-mail rejection. The subject line says it all:" ...Thank you for your interest...". A waste of time. I was OVERqualified for the position, and the correct position would have been for me to be the Department Manager, and Manage the Managers. Being OVER qualified and having some grey hair will not get you hired. ONE WORD: AGE-ISM. It would have been torture anyway, for very low pay and micro-management creating unnecessary stress. Not disappointed at no offer, really.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Apr 2013 – Reviewed Apr 24, 2013

Interview Details Initially called by a recruiter, who viewed my resume online. She told me the hours that may be required and if I had a problem with them, the hourly wage, the fact that bonus' and commission are involved as well. I had no problem with the hours and not having any future need for time off in the next 90 days. Received an email later that day , and filled out application and took a 90 min.online test. Was called from another recruiter three days letter for a phone interview. An in person interview was scheduled the following Wednesday which included five other candidates for the job We watched a short presentation on Comcast and then went off with individual manager for a one on one. Met with another manager from another department as well. Received an email the following week , which was an offer letter, a form for a background check to fill out and instructions for a drug test. Filled out and signed paperwork, took drug test, and waited for reply. Received an offer letter via email, congratulating me on becoming a Comcaster!!!!
