I applied online. I interviewed at General Motors (GM)
The initial interview is behavioral, about yourself, and a couple of technical questions. When you are invited back, the interview day is called "Super Day" where you have 4 sessions: 1. 90 min to do a case study, 2. Present it/technical questions, 3. Behavioral interview, 4. About yourself/company

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Arlington, TX) in Jan 2019
Fairly long process. First was a phone screen with HR asking standard questions. They briefed me on what to expect for the in person interview - which was about half a day long. A large portion of the interview was a Excel based NPV case. The NPV aspect was pretty simple, most of it was just figuring out revenues/expenses. There was also a standard behavioral and technical portion and they tended to focus on my experience. After the interview they told me it would be 3 weeks before they would call me back with a decision. 5 weeks later they called...I am assuming they were just leaving me on the hook in case another candidate backed out but who knows. Not a bad experience, pretty average. They did make it really clear that if you want to move up in the company you will eventually have to move to Michigan (HQ).
- It was standard interview questions. Nothing really stood out.

Long and drawn out, 3 phone interviews and a face to face which was 4 hours. It was typically over a week between each phone call before you would get any sort of response, I understand them wanting to do bulk interviewing but it was slow.
- They put a lot of focus on the business case and the technical questions

I applied online. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Oshawa, ON) in Jul 2017
Applied online through company website, received a call from HR rep in a week's time and answer some HR screening questions. Then a link to complete an online assessment, and received another call to schedule an interview within the same week. Interview was with two management, laid back and conversational just to get to know you. Leading up to behavioral questions, didn't do so well since different than the questions I have prepared.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI) in Apr 2017
Very good process. Quick and efficient. Incredible turnaround. Very reasonable in asking ur expectations and doing the best to place you where you had your interests. Acquisition center is amazing!!! Really enjoyed the process. Very relaxed environment. Very transparent about opportunities and how they assume you will grow in the organization. Interview was structured yet mostly just a group conversation which I liked.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Detroit, MI) in Oct 2016
I applied online in response to a job posting. A little less than a week later I received a call from HR for a phone interview. I expected it to be typical questions of why you're looking, why do you want to work for GM, etc. He asked those questions, but there were also a lot of technical questions. That caught me off guard because I didn't expect them at that phase. I threw out a bunch of finance buzz words, ROI, IRR, maximize profit, etc. It was pretty clear he was typing down key words I mentioned. Three days later I got a call to set up a phone interview with a finance manager. He asked behavioral and technical questions. He was very open with his interest and told me I would likely hear back from HR about scheduling travel arrangements to fly to Detroit for their "interview day." Two days later HR emailed me about travel arrangements. I flew in for a half day interview session. There were several other candidates interviewing for similar positions at multiple locations. The day starts with 90 minutes to complete a case study by putting together a financial model in Excel, followed by 4, 30 minute interviews. 1) present case study 2) behavioral questions 3) GM Fit 4) technical questions. Case study involved having to calculate the NPV of a new project and determining whether it would be a good investment. They are looking for candidates for are "mobile" and have interest in future relocation. There are a lot of opportunities within GM. During your first phone interview, be candid about your salary requirements. I was offered exactly what I asked for.

Consisted of 4 interviews on site and a case presentation. Mostly behavioral except the case. For the case you had 30-45 minutes to prepare the excel based model then one of your 4 interviews was walking through your excel model and assumptions.
