Corporate Position at Ingram Micro

No Offer – Reviewed Oct 05, 2012

Interview Details First the recruiter was extremely rude. She asked me what I was looking for regarding salary range. When I told her, she asked me, "What makes you think you can ask for that kind of money?" Well, because it was posted on the job description. Despite this, I was invited to interview.

I was asked to take 3 assessments over a period of about 2 weeks. They give a general personality and capability assessment. Mostly focused on reading charts and data from charts. I also did a critical thinking test. I was asked back 5 times for interviews and was even asked to wait in the lobby for over an hour because the recruiter didn't plan the time well.

Communication is mostly done with the recruiter. I met with the hiring manager twice, with the team once, and had a couple of phone calls.

I didn't mind the time investment but was offended by the regret. After all those hours of my time and taking time off work for interviews and assessments (3) I got a templated regret by email from the recruiter. A phone call would have been minimal professional courtesy. I was interviewing them as much as they were interviewing me and I was relieved not to receive the offer. The level of professionalism left a lot to be desired.

Interview Question – Most pretty straightforward behavior based interviews.   Answer Question

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Oct 04, 2012

Interview Details The process wasn't too hard; question were very specific to why you want the job and what relevant experience you might have. As with anywhere, having connections on the inside helps. I randomly knew someone who knew the hiring manager, and that helped give them a comfort level that I would be a good fit.

Interview Question – None   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I took what they offered, which was a slight increase over my previous salary.
