Sommelier at InterContinental Hotels

No Offer – Interviewed in London, England Feb 2013 – Reviewed Apr 03, 2013

Interview Details Initial telephone interviewing stage was smooth and efficient to set up an interview. However, the recruiter did not inform that this meeting would be an assessment taking up to three hours' time. Three team members conducted eye-to-eye interviews, one of which involved an uncomfortable dimmed-lights environment where the interviewer's face couldn't be seen. At the end of this interview a verbal offer for a trial shift was extended and I made adjustments to my calendar for this. When I left a voicemail message fo the manager on the trial day to confirm it, she did not reverse. After one month's delay, I received a curt rejection letter.

Manager, Procurement Research at InterContinental Hotels

No Offer – Interviewed in North Atlanta, GA (US) Apr 2013 – Reviewed Jun 18, 2013 New

Interview Details The interview process was relatively short. The HR Recruiter emailed me to set up a time for me to come in and meet with the hiring manager and one of his partners. I then had a panel interview with the hiring manager, the colleague and the HR Recruiter. Questions were expected given the job description. After the initial round, the hiring manager asked to talk to me on the phone regarding two further questions. Upon going through that stage, the hiring manager decided to rescope the position

Human Resource Manager at InterContinental Hotels

No Offer – Interviewed in Fort Leonard Wood, MO (US) Apr 2013 – Reviewed May 13, 2013

Interview Details Panel interview with General Manager and two other Assistant Managers. The on-line application was easy. A phone call set up the interview. Prior to the interview the panel did not review the application well. When I explained my availability date, that was the deal breaker. The application had my availability date on it, so that should have eliminated me from consideration based on the timeline to start they wanted.
