No Offer – Interviewed in London, England Mar 2013 – Reviewed Mar 18, 2013
Interview Details I made an online application with my CV and cover letter. Heard back after 8 weeks and got invited for numerical online assessment. 4 weeks later, I was called by the hiring assistant who said I have an informal telephone interview with the medical affairs manager. I prepared answers based on my CV and was really excited to give the interview. On the phone before getting to the interview questions, the manager wants to confirm my visa status and eligibility to work. Then mentions we can not hire international students, only British/EU, as the company does not sponsor. A tip for the future: Please save us people some time and effort and mention this on the career website beforehand. A complete waste of time.
Interview Question – Status of your visa (no work permits allowed, only British/EU passport)? Answer Question

Interview Details
Applied online with CV, Cover Letter,2 supporting questions. Received a call from HR coordinator 2 days later to arrange initial telephone screening interview with HR specialist. 1st interview one week after submitting online application, went well, was told on the phone I would be progressed to next stage. 1 week after: 2nd phone interview with Senior Product manager, went well, was told I would be progressed to the next stage. 1 week after, skype interview (I was abroad) with VP skincare. 1 hour alone to work through a business case study (Venezuelan wine company looking to enter the UK and European markets - propose sales and marketing strategy and recommendations etc). 15 minutes to present it, 15 minutes Q&A. 30 minutes general interview questions on motivation etc.
Never got feedback on this interview, either by phone or email despite 1 email and 1 voice mail to the HR coordinator as to the outcome of the interview...
Interview Question –
After finishing the Case Study part (15" +15") I was asked, if you could do the case study differently now, how would you do it?
All other questions throughout the process were typical interview questions, mostly competency based (tell me about a time when...).

Declined Offer – Interviewed in London, England May 2010 – Reviewed Jun 21, 2010
Interview Details
I originally got told of the offer through a recruiting agency.
Passed a series of online tests, then an interview on-site that consisted of a presentation on a case (preparation time: 1h) then group interview with questions regarding background, skills (challenges of consumer good industry, decentralized organisation, etc). Then I had a final phone interview with managers which was a fairly forward interview (strengths, weaknesses, etc).
My perception of the company: Business oriented but in a casual environment. People-driven and rather open. Care is a key value, and visible in the people as well.
Interview Question – What was the most frustrating part of your job (previous experience)? Answer Question

Interview Details Interview style may vary. If you are following a traditional career path for sales, marketing, IT, etc... it is easier to get hired. Internal candidates get the preference and networking with key stakeholders will give you the edge. Difficult to move between operating units. An example is going from Consumer to Pharma, not an easy transition unless you have the stars aligned.
Interview Question – Give an example when you had to deal with ambiguity and how you handled it. Answer Question

Interview Details I had several interviews over a couple of years, since I had targeted this company and had a couple of sponsors who kept my name in front of hiring managers. When I had my final interviews, (a total of four), I felt comfortable with the team and was told that they were comfortable with me and were interested in hiring me, even before the offer was finalized.
Interview Question – The most difficult question was understanding the actual scope of the job title, especially as an external hire. I strongly recommend asking what a typicaly day is like and what the current hot projects are so that you have a feel for what the title really means. Answer Question
Negotiation Details –
Negotiation matched my salary expectations.
I was not able to negotiate additional time off, which was a big deal for me. I had just left a company with 6 weeks of time off and had hoped to negotiate a lower salary in exchange for an additional week of time off. I wasn't able to do this and only had three weeks of time off.
