2.Technical

For the technical interview round they mostly ask questions about your area of specialization. If you have an IT background they may ask questions from basic c++, Java, Software engineering, Data structure, DBMS, RDBMS, basics of computer hardware and on similar topics.

3 HR Interview Round

In the HR Interview round they test your patience and stress level. In this round the main focus remains on communication skill, behavior and confidence. The HR interview is usually started with questions on family background, Project and area of specialization. All other questions as usual

I applied through another source and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Mahindra Satyam in January 2008.

Interview Details Intial call from Talent acquistion followed up by 2 phone interviews with HR and Competency team.
This was followed up with a 1:1 interview with the hiring manager for this role. From intial call to negotiation took 3 weeks, following which an offer was made. A straightforward process without undue complications.

Interview Question – What do you see as the biggest challenge in applying your skills outside the IT managed services industry to this role   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Make sure you know what you want and articulate a case for it. Be concise but be prepared to be flexible if it is the job you really want.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Mahindra Satyam.

Interview Details 1) Interview intimation email
2) Face to Face interview
     - Technical round 1
        Interview panel with 2 people with mid-level experience. Discussion was on basic technical aspects. Purpose is to filter for the next technical round
     - Technical round 2
        Interview panel with 3 people with mid and upper level experience. Discussion was on my complete technical competency mentioned in the resume
     - Manager round
        Direct discussion with the project manager to whom we might be working if selected. Discussion was based on the project requirement and able to align with the project responsibilities
3) HR discussion over phone
       Had discussion on the salary and bonus related.

Interview Question – Few analytical and reasoning questions were tough to answer. On whole it is a good interview I had   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – Job responsibility demanded me to work late evening 8 PM which I could not adhere with due to personal reasons later

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Mahindra Satyam in January 2013.

Interview Details I took up this interview in early 2013. There were total 4 rounds:
1. Technical
2. Managerial
3. Was supposed to be with a "higher up manager" but then was turned into Technical round
4. 2 min talk with "higher up manager"
Total time taken was around 2 weeks. HR kept chasing me asking for interviews but then slowed down considerably after round 2.

I have a speech impairment, normally it doesn't affect my communication and it was something which I was upfront about to the HR. In spite of knowing this, they made me go through 4 rounds only to tell me I was rejected because of my speech problem.
So I guess its your choice if you want to trust them specially if you have any kind of impairment.

Interview Details They were very flexible. I attended for a job interview for a BPO offer and they asssigned me a Graphics Designer position looking at my skills and knowledge of Graphic Designing

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 6 days - interviewed at Mahindra Satyam in August 2013.

Interview Details The hiring process here is tailored to look complex and thorough but is actually a colossal joke. They had a written test for me which could be passed by a 2 yr old. The next round is a group discussion which does not have a moderator or watcher... So you end up just chatting with fellow applicants. The next 2 "technical" interviews were so ridiculous it felt like the interviewers were more interested in asking me about my personal life rather than my skills for the role. I guess one can't expect any better from a services company in India.
