No Offer – Interviewed in New York, NY (US) – Reviewed Sep 29, 2012
Interview Details I had the impression that I was interviewing for some sort of social club or sorority, not a professional position. I was an exact fit for this job, but it was clear that I was not welcome from the moment I walked in and sat down. Several employees were friendly enough. But one man was particularly unfriendly, rude and nasty. I had peer interviews with individuals who knew nothing about SAS Programming when I am an expert. I have no idea how they were supposed to assess my ability to do the job without any technical background. I think one of them was an Administrative Assistant. It was very odd to have peoplel tell you that they didnt know anything about the job or your expertise , so that couldn't ask pertinent questions. And then laugh like it was funny. I later heard that the job had been open for over 6 months. I had a very hard time getting a response back (waited over 4 weeks for a no). The only reason I didn't remove myself from consideration was that I needed a job at the time. And the salary was at least 30% below market in a very expensive City. Maybe my experience threatened them some how. Some people don't like high-quality people because they see you as competition; thus, they eliminate you.
Interview Question – They couldn't ask difficult questions because none of them had any technical expertise. Other than the Manager, no one else had any business participating in the interview process. In appropriate and a waste of my time. Answer Question
