Very Easy Interview
I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Nordstrom in November 2013.
Applied online and got a call 2 days later from a super nice HR person. Got interviewed right on the spot unexpectedly but they were incredibly easy questions. Asked to come in for an interview the next day in the afternoon and fill out a questionnaire online. Again, met with HR who were so nice and sweet and made me feel really comfortable. She asked me around 6 or 7 typical interviewer questions. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And she hired me on the spot. She didn't ask me to sell her anything and I didn't meet with a department manager like I thought I would. The interview lasted around 30 minutes. She did, however, contact my references. But that was really about it.
Make sure you wear trendy business casual to the interview as well. You want to make a great, professional first impression but you also want to show you have a fashion sense.

Interview Details Very lackadaisical hiring process in place by the managers. Not official at all and high level of procrastination by many managers in the store. The level of professionalism is dropping by the day in this company; the honeymoon is over.
Interview Question – The most difficult question was 'why do you want to wrk in this department,' usually the easiest question of an interview. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation involved.

Interview Details I applied online for the position in BP. It was a seasonal position. A couple days later, I got a phone call from human resourses and she basically did a phone screening and she asked questions like why am I interested, what is my favorite department, if I am currently employed and what is my availability. After that, she asked if I could come in the next day for an interview. You need to dress professionally. I had two interviews, one with HR and one with the department manager of BP. She asked questions like if I had ever worked in a competitive environment, what do I know about nordstrom, name a time when I dealt with an unhappy customer, and how I felt about commission. I later waited about 10 minutes for the department manager and she asked the same questions. She later took me out to the floor and showed me around and then we roled played where she was a customer and I was a sales person. I had to basically pick an outfit and try to sell it to her and point out the pros and cons of the outfit. Overall it was a great experience. Nice people
Interview Question – Name a time where you were competitive and name a time where you dealt with an unhappy customer and how did you turn it around Answer Question
Negotiation Details – During the interview, they tell you how much the pay is. Each department is different. I am paid hourly and there are bonuses each month if your department does well

Interview Details You get a call form HR to come in for an interview they have your app ready the supervisor from that department comes and gets you takes you to the side or a room and interviews you...if he or she likes you then you get the job and he or she will tell you themselves....if you don't get it they will tell you we will be in contact with you but you should know or have an idea before leaving bc it's that managers choice.. then you start to get all these notifications through your email about the next steps from HR about your paper work no needed to go back in to do that...then you are given a date to go in for orientation which I must admits is pretty informative...I was in Miami so it depends on how big your area is as to were the orientation will be. if it's only one store then that's where you will be...
Interview Question – Nothing to difficult standard how would you handle an irate customer situation Answer Question
