    Interview

First they call you for a pre-interview and ask basic questions, then if they like what they hear they will invite you for an in person interview.

In person they take you to the area to see what's going on and ask you a bunch of questions like where did you work before, working in groups, etc.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago, IL (US)) in March 2015.

    Interview

Applied through the online portal, a friend gave me a contact for the hiring department and was able to set up an interview within the week of application. Meet with two of the three managers, both were very nice and welcoming, very easy to talk with and felt comfortable asking questions

    Interview Questions

    • What is your end goal?, Where do you see yourself in 5 years?, Why do you want to work in Cardio/Pulmonary Transplant?, What made you switch careers? (used to be a teacher)   Answer Question

    Negotiation

New Nursing Grad, no negotiation with hiring pay. I did ask because I have several years of medical experience, but when I asked why they said that it's because I have no experience as a nurse. Offer wasn't too bad though.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago, IL (US)) in February 2015.

    Interview

The operations interviewer was really nice and helpful. She asked me a few questions that related to my clinical experience and my strengths and weaknesses. She asked me if I had any questions in addition to anything she didn't cover and she was very detailed with her answers. I had the opportunity to meet different managers on the unit including the operations manager and two other managers who were also very nice as well.

No negotiation phase, if I had known my position was budgeted in a range, I would have negotiated for more money.

    Interview

I applied online through the career site. It took about 2 months for someone from HR to contact me for a Phone interview. I passed that and went in for an in person interview about a week later. Pretty easy and laid back interview. I then was asked to take a test to make sure my excel skills were up to par. I did not hear anything for about a month and a half. Assumed I did not get the position. After waiting this length of time I was contacted by phone by HR saying they were pursuing other candidates

    Interview

Initial phone screening with HR followed by onsite interview with a Director and Manager. Laid back, low pressure interview. Straightforward SQL test at the end of the interview. Called back for second round interview with team members the next week. Interviewed with three separate team members, also laid back and low pressure. Received an offer a few days later.

    Interview Questions

    • Initial phone screening included many rapid fire questions about job experiences ("talk about a time you handled a difference of opinion with a coworker," etc. If you understand the position and why you want it, everything after was fairly easy.   Answer Question
