Interview Details Selected during campus interview after Engineering. Interview was pure technical. However weightage was given to class rank much. Questions were objective but analytical.

Interview Question – Question about DCS distributed control system, which we were not much aware due to no industry experience. I assume- not much weight was given to this, as company also knows that fresh graduates does not have much knowledge on this   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiations, they offered all the selected same salary and package as per company policy.

Process Engineer Interview

Process Engineer
Kānpur, Uttar Pradesh (India)

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Reliance Industries in February 2011.

Interview Details Shortlisting of resumes followed by written test. The test comprised of two part Aptitude and Technical. Roughly equal weightage given to both parts. Aptitude was fairly easy ,any simple preparation for mba exams will suffice, the technical was majorly objective in nature with multiple options. The question were directly industry related and not theoretical or course related like type of pumps , which type of trays for distillation column, which tpe of reactor is best suited etc. The interview was also easy as they asked question specifically looking at resume like about internships, btech project , your favourite course etc. From a general viewpoint they grilled students who had less scores in tests and were easy with those having good scores. The entire interview lasted like 10 min (fairly short as i got good scores in technical part) with the later part being HR type with questions like why chem engg., future plan, why reliance, about family and past history etc.

Interview Question – Which chemical process/transport phenomenon did you like best?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Fairly straight forward as they had already declared the CTC of 6 lakhs for training period of 1 yr and 7 afterwards + annual increments which usually varies form 5-15%. So there was no scope of negotiations.
