Interview Details I put in an application online and in about two weeks I got a call. It was a phone interview where she asked about my availability and she explained they only hire part time and start at minimum wage. She told me there would be me and another person but when I got there, there were five more people and we all took a turn answering the same questions. You have to be talkative or you won't stand out.

Interview Details Applied online and received a call a few days later to schedule an interview. The interview consisted of very basic questions and I was interviewed by three people simultaneously. I believe one was an assistant manager, the other was a manager, and the other was training to be an assistant manager. It was the shortest interview I have ever had. They were very friendly and spoke a lot about how growing in the company is a very easy thing to do if you are committed and work hard for it. They told me they would conduct a background check and then contact me. I am still in the process of waiting for them to call me.

Interview Details Interview process is very basic. Applications are done online. A follow-up phone call is a plus, but not necessary. There is a questionaire attached that is scored and unfortunately can be the cause for the applicant not getting an interview regardless of their abilities. Remembering that first impressions are everything will be very helpful in the interview process. Being nervous is normal. Being honest is a must. Don't try to over-sell yourself, just go with the flow. Be friendly, but not chatty.
Interview Question – The most difficult question asked is "Why do you want to work for Ross?". This question tends to throw most people off regardless of what company they are interviewing with. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Negotiation is based on experience and ability. Very basic.

Interview Details The interview process at store manager and assistant store manager levels can be daunting. You interview with multiple people, sometimes over the phone. Ross interviews are very structured. Every applicant is asked the same basic question by each person. Additional questions are based on responses to gather more information about the candidate. Associate applicants are interviewed by the store manager and assistant store manager. Again the interview format is pretty structured.
Interview Question – The most unexpected question was quite simple. "How many days would you say it is acceptable to be absent in 1 month?" A very direct question that you did not think you would be asked. View Answer
Negotiation Details – Negotiations were pretty simple. I was asked what my ideal salary would be during the interview. When the offer was made they gave me their best offer. I did of counter the offer.
