Team Supervisor at Staples

Accepted Offer – Reviewed Jun 07, 2013 New

Interview Details The hiring process was easy. i filled out an application and was called back the very next day. the interview was a few minutes and i was hired on the spot. i did not have to wait for a call back. those personality tests are annoying that are part of the interview. i feel like they are useless because people write the answers they think the person will want to hear just to get the job.

Interview Question – all questions were straight up. nothing was difficult or meant to confuse you.   Answer Question

Interview Question – What is an example you can give where a customer wanted a service that you could not provide?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – I was offered a position within the company that I did not apply for. I was told that this position would just get me in the door so that I could advance into the desired position. I was in said position within two months and made another advancement within another three months.

Sales Associate at Staples

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Jun 2009 – Reviewed Jun 05, 2013 New

Interview Details It was one interview with the GM of the location I applied to. Very basic questions, tell me about yourself, what experience, why was Staples a choice for you. They said they'd give me a call within a week if they were interested. They called a week later, told me to bring my DL and SS Card and that would be all.

Interview Question – No real difficult questions. They do ask the 'tell me about yourself' one. Nothing unexpected.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I just accepted the salary with no negotiations. I was pretty desperate for a job at the time. If you mention you have related experience they'll ask 'how much are you looking to make'. I'd throw out a dollar or two hire than what you want.

B2B Sales Consultant at Staples

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Philadelphia, PA (US) Jul 2009 – Reviewed Jun 03, 2013

Interview Details first interview was phone an HR telephone screening. This is to see if the salary is in range and you have the right qualifications

second, was an in-person interview with the hiring manager. Professional, yet nice interview. This is to see if you have what it takes.

A ride-along with a B2B is set up for you to go out and get a feel for what the job entails.

Third, was an interview with the hiring manager and the regional manager. They asked harder questions and I presented a Power Point about the company and how I'd be a good fit.

Interview Question – Power Point presentation was the most intimidating but went very well.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – no negotiations. I tried and they would not budge.

Sales Associate at Staples

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Roseville, MN (US) – Reviewed May 28, 2013

Interview Details They basically want to see your outgoing "salesman" personality. If you don't talk a lot or seem introverted or shy, you won't get an offer. All positions are sales-focused, especially on attaching the Staples extended warranty plans to all eligible items. You will be asked on how to present these or how to attach them. They want to see comfort in the sale, not forcing it or robotic sales lines. Be natural with it.

Interview Question – How would you sell a service plan to a customer who did not want to spend the extra money or objects to the price?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – They asked expected salary. If you ask too high, you don't get the job. I was firm on my number, it was higher than average, but still within the range.
