The interview process consisted of two parts: the first, was a regular interview in which they asked why I was interested to work in starbucks, my knowledge about the company, what could I bring to the company plus some scenario questions like: how would you react if a collegue was unfear to you, how would you deal with a difficult customer, and more questions of that sort that I can't remember.
The second part, was a trial day. I worked for four hours with the team. After that, I was offered the job.

After filling out an application, the next step in the hiring process is typically an in-person interview at the store by the Store Manager.
It is recommended that when a drink is offered prior to the interview to accept the drink. Attempt to mention your drink selection and why you drink it. It offers an instant connection to the interviewer and allows the interviewee to seem slightly knowledgeable of the brand.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Chicago, IL (US) Nov 2012 – Reviewed May 20, 2013 New
Interview Details Two interviews are required, usually by the manager and the assistant manager. Customers service is more important than coffee knowledge. I know one manager was impressed when told that "getting it right was more important than speed." They will also ask why you want to work at Starbucks. This question is to discern if you really have an interest in the coffee business. Again, knowledge isn't as important as interest.
Interview Question – Tell me about a time you had to deal with an angry/upset customer. Answer Question

I had an onsite interview for a Marketing Manager position. The hiring manager seemed disorganized (e.g. Did not know if there were others interviewing me) and uninterested to begin with. He asked me standard questions like what are your strengths, weaknesses, etc. I brought in a portfolio of my work and had to drive the conversation to my experience to focus the interview a bit more.
After the interview, I sent thank you emails to both the recruiter and the hiring manager. I followed up with the recruiter three times after the interview and didn't get a response back. You would think if someone came onsite for an interview, a standard email saying "we are pursuing other candidates" would be the typical rejection if I wasn't fit for the job. No word from them seemed pretty rude to me. I thought Starbucks was a company of integrity, but apparently not.

Interview Details Was initially required to take on in depth management assessment regarding skills and capabilities. It focused on customer service skills, coaching behaviors in random scenarios, and p&l management exercises. After passing the assessment I was contacted by the regional recruiter for the company and conducted a phone interview. Following the phone screening I was interviewed a second time in person by two district managers and then had a final interview with the area director.
