    hiring process is very strict. apti ques are tough. good for toppers as they are exempted from giving the written. they only have to give a verbal test of 10 minutes. interview was really tough. they try to put you in stressful situations. be confident and you will make it.

    the aptitude round is pretty tricky.. probably level of aptitude is higher when compared to other companies along its lines.. it is then followed by technical and then hr round... tis is quite easily actually.. jus be thorough with C-programming.. just the basics would be sufficient...

    I applied through college or university. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Tata Consultancy Services.

    Interview Details

    The entire process was divided in 2 days events.
    On the first day we had written test which included email writing and aptitude test. The email writing was online and duration was 10 min. and required min 50 words and to include all the phrases provided in the topic. The aptitude questions were bit tough but the thing was they all were repeated from last years papers which one can find on many sites.
    On the second day, we had interviews in 3 phases- technical, MR & HR.
    The interview was very unprofessional as they didn't called most of candidates for next round even though they were good and were told they are selected for next round. The students kept waiting till 8 pm and then TCS people just packed up and left.

    Its a "not so good company"....just full of crowd were you won't get recognition for your work.

    Tech round was mainly about basics of computer science. Not much detailed. One could answer easily. HR round was more like a casual chat. I was asked about some movies and stuff. Interview was pretty easy. Anybody with basic knowledge on cs can clear.

    Interview process is as normal first they contact by phone , had telephonic interview after that they called to attend Technical face to face at their location. It went fine and here lot of document verification process is there, if we dint brought any single required document they asking to leave with out any excuse.

    On-campus Hiring:
    Day 0: The College Campus Hiring process starts with a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT). The HR and Resource Management Group hold a talk for all interested candidates about what, how, why, when and where about the company, and placement and training processes. There is a Q&A session when the talk commences. PPT is necessary for candidates to know and evaluate if they wish to apply for TCS. Trust me, everyone wants to apply for it.

    Day 1: Online screening tests - Multiple choice objective questions on Quantitative Analysis, Aptitude, Verbal and Logical Reasoning.

    Shortlisted candidates progress to next rounds.

    Day 2: Technical Panel - Interview on technical, logical and reasoning abilities. Aptitude for learning is expected - so be prepared to learn from subtle hints dropped by interviewers.

    Shortlisted candidates progress to last round.

    Day 2: HR Interview - HR panel evaluates aptitude for commitment, learning and towards the growth of company. Questions about hobby, achievements, co- and extra-curricular activities etc. help them assess if the candidate is a right fit.

    Final list of selected candidates is announced at the end of Day 2 and temporary offer letter is handed, subject to realization of candidate meeting eligibility criteria by the end of the college curriculum.

    Lateral hiring:
    Screening of candidates is done based on online subjective and objective tests. On clearing, technical and managerial rounds are conducted, in that order respectively. Only candidates clearing one level of screening go for the next round. Last step is negotiation and offer of employment.

      2) Asked to write an algorithm for random number generator. (Trick question, which many realized after the interview)

First we had aptitude test , essay writing,Those who were short listed were called for technical round where they ask basics of oops, and if your from electrical they may even ask related to your core. Then we had managerial round which was simple they gave me situation n asked me how to handle.Finally we had HR round where they ask basic questions like tell me bout yourself,etc
