This is a question where one wants to put a number out there after much inane mental strategy--just to "get it right" or prove their mathematical fortitude using pragmatical nonsense. I wouldn't fall for it . I would remark that the variables preclude any reasonable guess for practical purposes. BUT I do appreciate the question's novelty and will say, "about a third of all planes in existence, because some are landing, some are boarding and the remainder are in flight."
