I worked at Acro as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    Gave me access to employment.

    Cons

    1. Enormous hassle to get started. Much more paperwork than if I were a permanent employee at the client company.
    2. No support whatsoever.
    3. Rapid turnover at Acro means that the person you spoke to earlier will not be available next time you call.
    4. No benefits, although access to their plans which you pay for 100%. Plans are inferior to ACA.
    5. Completely messed up my (100% self-funded) 401k by retroactively "correcting" for early contributions (which they manage and took out). Arbitrarily pulled out 50% of the balance, causing a huge year-end tax liability and the lost opportunity to save for retirement.
    6. Takes a significant cut of your paycheck without providing any value to the contractor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to contractors: find another agency to work with. (e.g., Lancaster Labs, Kelly, etc.). This organization is merely exploitative.

    Doesn't Recommend
