    I have been working at Capcom Vancouver full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Full time employment in an industry that is heading more towards contract employment only
    - Opportunity to work on AAA titles
    - Ambitious people get the opportunity try interesting things

    Cons

    - Inability to focus on what makes the IP good and push the quality on those features and maintain them between sequels.
    - Base of tech is terrible, making it difficult for quality software engineers and technical artists to provide support and quality tools. Tech is basically a house of cards, make one small change and the whole thing could break.
    - Low paying, bonuses are small and always come with an excuse.
    - Terrible (and notorious) overtime with a joke amount of comp-time at the end of a cycle.
    - Executives are self-serving, and only concerned with what gets them ahead
    - Suck ups and game-players are rewarded rather than hard workers, making for an environment where people step on others to get ahead and create a lot of animosity within teams.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Recognize who key contributors are and focus on keeping them happy rather than just keeping the peace. If someone is screwing up -- do something about it. Don't allow for complacency and crap-quality.
    - Remember who actually makes the game and keeps you in a job. It seems that is lost on a lot of upper management.
