Former Employee - Summer Intern (Audit) in Cambridge, East of England, England

I worked at EY as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Very friendly and collaborative working culture; managers will empathise with you and not generally place you under excessive pressure. Generally good promotion prospects- can expect to be promoted every few years or so in early career as long as you meet targets. This will be boosted by "Vision 2020" strategy to double in size- firm needs to add to its partner base by nurturing young talent. Work-life balance is generally reasonable, can fluctuate depending on what stage of the project you're at but it's not as strenuous as some alternative employers. Opportunities to move around offices regionally and participate in international secondments if you're good.

    Cons

Work can be dull at times particularly at the junior level, although this applies to most graduate jobs. Some roles e.g. audit require a lot of travel to some less than glamorous regional locations, sometimes with a lot of nights spent in budget hotels. Some colleagues don't take your feedback very seriously, so it's important to carefully manage their perception of you.
