    I have been working at Franklin Retail Solutions

    Pros

    The flexibility of the schedule is the main reason that people would stay with the job. Building and maintaining excellent professional relationships with key in-store personnel and management as well as the entire teams in store to ensure client growth and profitability. Some great office personnel and team players. During the good years I was used for traveling to locations for mending relationships and coverage to ensure the Franklin name is recognized and in good standing.

    Cons

    It used to be that you would stay because there was a team environment that was somewhat present and the District Managers and office managers would reach out to the field reps to see how everything was going and get feedback on the pros and cons of the job. Now it just seems like everyone is in their own bubble and the communication breakdown is apparent when looking at field reps schedules and account managers project dates (which are sometimes added at the last second or the start day of the project).

    There is huge potential for a better structure of business which seems like they are trying to achieve, but right now the issue seems to be wanting retail driven results without having the retail business structure. i.e.: DM doing exactly the same thing as the Sell Through Specialist with the addition of minor DM responsibilities. DM's focus should be team building in their region which cuts costs on recruiting, ensuring QUALITY driven results in each market by observing relationships between reps and store management, and promoting growth for sell through specialists to make them feel like a bigger part of the team and the mission statement of the company. Also, lack of consistency within the auditors communications between each other occasionally resulting in confusing audits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Work on communication with reps in the field and observe their strengths and weaknesses. This could be potentially profitable and beneficial for other key roles in the company where help may be needed or change should occur. Degrees are important but those can be attained while working. People skills and knowing how to not create issues by looking at the big picture (in office and challenges out in the field) cannot be taught to everyone. Those with these strengths should be in key positions within the organization such as training, account managers, DM's, and so forth. Some are in the correct positions and do exceptionally well but there should be some consistency across the board. A good company to work for but growth potential is extremely limited especially by low pay scales and lack of available promotion. Ask me a few years ago I would have said 5 stars for most of the categories.
