    I worked at Larsen & Toubro full-time for more than a year


    Great exposure: LNT is a huge company which gives an opportunity to work on mega projects: Great exposure
    Brand value: Having LNT as a past employer helps you a lot in getting during job search and adds weight to your CV
    LNT makes you street smart: LNT is a pseudo-government company with typical hierarchy structure, office politics. You spend two years in the company and you are equipped with skill that are not taught in any of the classrooms :)


    Commitment for two years: GETs are required to sign two years bond of two lacs
    GETs and diploma holders get similar type of work and similar growth opportunity in LNT. They don't give separate roles to GETs which is frustrating for an engineers who has worked harder and longer to get engineering degree.
    Hierarchy is rigid and very hard to reach out to and interact with higher management.
    Not easy to share new ideas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    LNT should have re-look at their GET program. Lot of talented engineers come to LNT because of its brand value and expecting that they will get good exposure ( which they get) and good long-term growth and work-life balance ( both of which they don't get) Thus most of GETs end up waiting for their bond period to end and leave the company as soon as they can.
