  1.

Location and division dependant. Good place to work until you stay long enough to understand how it is managed.

I worked at Mott MacDonald full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good name for CV.

Heritage projects such as channel tunnel.

    Wide variety of international projects.

    A library.

Offices tend to be close to train stations.

Lack of experience of staff provides many opportunities for someone with previous experience to train others or to push for a position of responsibility.

    Cons

20 year old office furniture and stale air in the office. Years of discussions about office renovation, but no real action.

Favouritism (it depends on your heritage/background whether this is a pro or con).

Turnover at the junior level is too high. Turnover at the senior level is too low. This is obviously good for some.

Inept managers and a never ending number of directors whose responsibilities and contributions are unclear. No team meetings to show who is doing what.

Self serving managers who are determined to keep client relationships entirely theirs, rather than make efforts to accommodate relationships at all levels..

Coaching of staff to give acceptable responses to accreditation bodies when they visit, when staff have been otherwise unaware of the programme.

Insufficient training and overhead budgets and questionable time sheet booking requirements.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retire. Apply credit where it is due and get rid of dead wood.
