I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than an year)

Interesting work that won't break your back.

Working as a defense contractor is inherently risky business regardless of what your managers may tell you. Some companies and government agencies may treat contractors better but a contract's health is usually closely held and it's better to assume there's no safety net. I left the company and general field in 2013 but I hear contractors will be increasingly squeezed by less pay so if you decide to go the contractor route, DON"T be complacent and keep looking for full time work.
