I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

It use to be dynamic, problem-solving focused with a wonderful professional staff who went out of their way to contribute if asked appropriately.

That said, like all very large organizations, it is very silo-ed. We had clients who could have had needs additionally or better served by other pockets within the organization. Cross-cutting out one's "box" to another was problematic. It was also a very male-dominated ACOE organization with less recognition and opportunity than might have been desired by women and a tendency to assume a "we do it all" attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your field staff! They have their hands on the pulse of the clients, have relationships outside of Parsons that provide opportunity, competitive intelligence and can inform a stronger sense of "place in the marketplace." Open those communication channels -- and REALLY open them where there is no negative consequence for proactive recommendation, necessary corrections etc. It's impossible to be always right at the top, so learn to listen to the folks on the streets and in the trenches. They are your best intelligence and marketing resources.
