I worked at SunGard full-time (more than 5 years)

Worklife balance generally in your control so you can make it what you want it to be. This includes flexible work start/end times, and teleworking opportunities (either informal with odd days here and there or more formal with set days in the office)

Very US Centric. It is a US company and most of the corporate attention is on the US. Little or no senior management attention on other geographies.
Lots of high profile policies but little action. Senior management talks a good game about what is supposed to go on but local management don't seem to take much notice. Has grown largely through acquisitions and often the customs and practices of the acquired companies continue.
No career progression. Compartmentalised into products. Moving to a different product very difficult and little or no progression opportunity inside a given product. Some people I worked with had been doing the same job for 15 years.
Very mean. Salaries are low for the type of work, market sector and location. New joiners get offered slightly more competitive salaries but then their rises are low thus drawing them back into the pack. The bean counters take the Oscar Wilde quote about the cost of everything and the value of nothing as a personal mission statement
No Training or Development. The American management make a great deal of noise about this but nothing happens locally.
Very risk averse. If you are an innovator or lateral thinker then forget it. This company is very conservative and likes to do things the way they have always been done.
Offshoring. Obsessed with offshoring but doesn't have the calibre of management or processes to make it work effectively. Only sees the offshore manhour rate not the cost of sorting out the resultant mess.
    Morale is awful
Appraisal process seems to have been designed to minimise the amount of work line managers have to do rather than providing an objective performance assessment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try and drag yourself away from your North American naval gazing and see what is actually going on across the Oceans.
