    Current Employee - Crew Chief

I have been working at United Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Could not ask for better co- workers, excellent flight concessions, a good pension. A unique working environment.

    Cons

Would give up a host of flight concessions for a couple of confirmed seats any day. Local (ie non US ) decisions rely on Chicago accounts unfortunately they don't always get the full picture and just bean count. Promotional opportunities a bit hit and miss, have received some lame excuses for not getting the job in the past. Most departments work short on resources and you get put in uncomfortable positions usually when striking a good work / life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers don't have a common agenda so "getting on " in the company rather depends on who your face fits best with. Still have the same old school attitudes. Some don't even know how the day to day workings of their allocated collateral area(s)

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
