I worked at Vertex Pharmaceuticals full-time (more than 5 years)

Strong senior management below the Executive Team that gets things done.

BD organization has been a revolving door for the past decade or more. Not a partner of choice with other companies and poor alliance management. Acting head of BD likes to slander team and members of management. Fits in with culture of senior leadership disappearing in the middle of the night without a trace - most of time it is based upon personality clashes. CFO now has too much say in science and questionable morals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start over with BD and CFO. Build a strong BD team from scratch to work with the R&D organization in order to enhance it rather than destroy it. Improve HR and culture. It's cheaper and more effective to build senior leadership rather than recycle. No longer tolerate toxic culture or team members. A few more High EQ people would help.
