    I have been working at Virgin Media full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    The brand and products are top rate. The people all aim to work as a team. There are good intentions to try and live the brand, but management hold this back.

    Cons

    More stick than carrot management from heads of and directors, they need more training to inspire and get the best out of teams. Confused structure, seems to change regularly. Progress seems to be dependent on how influential your head of is, plus it feels based on politics rather than talent. Salary is below par from industry averages. Lack of communication about the business and no direction and breakdown given on how this works into the teams. No work life balance, everyone is expected to work at 200%. Management ask us to work smarter, and when workload is raised they run through why the work can not be done, so overtime is always done to take on the extra work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Appreciate management styles are all different. But there must be some consistencies to get the best out of people. Be more aware of management behaviours and direction to ensure clear communication and dissemination of information.
    Structure needs to be defined and communicated so it's clear, plus job security.
