    I worked at AMD full-time for more than a year


    There were good people around and I enjoyed the challenge of the work I had.


    There were people who were promoted ahead of time and who could have benefited from closer supervision from above but did not get it....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More communication with people down the food chain would help. First, it allows issues to be picked up sooner and could help everyone be on same page. Then, it might help a different perspective be transmitted up the chain, which is something that seems to be missing at AMD (while I was there).

    Application Details

    I applied through other source. The process took 1 week - interviewed at AMD.

    Interview Details

    1) 5 Rounds of interview covering software, verification, logic design, Computer Architecture and Physical Design (little)
    2) Logic Design round was difficult since tough questions about verilog coding and design using it were asked
    3) Computer Architecture - covered tomasulo, cache, pipeline, interrupts etc...
    4)Software - Toughest....questions asked were like how to design good application, how many lines of C++ code have you written, perl pattern matching questions
