    I worked at Baker Botts full-time for more than a year


    Salaries, salary levels for both support staff and fee-earners is competitive in the market.
    Client base, the client base and cases that the fee-earners deal with is very compelling and attractive to any fee-earner in the particular fields of expertise.


    The management in London. One particular member of staff was particularly difficult to deal with and unfortunately was a member of the senior leadership team. Most individuals within the London office had an issue with this individual's management style, resulting in many employees leaving the firm directly because of this person. Losing a talented workforce because of one individual does not make good business sense,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take feedback from staff. Support staff are in the main, just that, support staff. No time is taken to hear feedback from them, get opinions on how things can be changed/improved and as such the turnover is quite high. As a member of the support staff there was never any feeling of being valued

    I applied through a staffing agency - interviewed at Baker Botts in July 2013.

    Interview Details

    Did not get a chance to interview for more than 12 minutes. The Manager interviewing looked at my LinkedIn profile and had her mind made up that I would not be hired, even though I was fully qualified. I am white male, she is a woman of color. Less than a week after the Zimmerman trial. It wasn't hard to figure she didn't want to hear anything I had to say about my qualifications or interest in the company. You could hear the tone in her voice that she did not want to interview me. She cut it short quickly. I was and still am in shock that this would go on at a Law Firm, but I'm sure upper management has no idea.
