    I worked at Demand Media full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Worked here for during DM's splash in the market. It was truly an exciting place to work:

    - good benefits and pay
    - approachable leadership team of truly good people
    - collaborative culture that focused on taking action
    - focus on empowerment
    - lots of career opportunities -- if you had an idea there was a high likelihood you'd get to do it

    Cons

    Work/life balance was a challenge. Expectation of the was that you'd put in a lot of hours, and if you weren't doing that you weren't "going big."

    Focus at times was also a challenge. There were so many opportunities that as a company we may have chased too many at once.

    None. I miss this team!

    Interview Details

    Very friendly HR and the team members were very knowledgable, definitely drove the importance of company culture. The interviews typically lasted anywhere between 30 minutes to one hour over the phone, in person interview lasted about an hour as well.
