Growth & YOU
Learning is a key component of our success. Our approach to ongoing education includes a formal training curriculum and on-the-job learning designed to complement your current skill set with a personalized growth and development plan.
In our rigorous technical training program, you’ll build your skills in financial analysis and modeling, as well as enhance your understanding of regulatory requirements through interactive coursework that includes live programs, online recordings, and e-learning solutions. From DPU, our initial technical training program for entry-level hires, to advanced technical topic modules for our more seasoned employees, you’ll learn how to present effectively, develop new business opportunities, and manage relationships with your clients. We also encourage you to obtain relevant industry professional certifications to build your expertise.
In our array of advanced programs, you’ll gain facility in management, coaching, leadership, and senior management planning, to help ensure that our people are prepared to become effective future leaders of Duff & Phelps.
But our commitment to education extends beyond our internal learning and education curriculum. We also sponsor programs that help further financial education for members of the larger community, including the next generation of business leaders. For example, the annual Duff & Phelps YOUniversity Deal Challenge helps college students get real-world experience by solving a Duff & Phelps case study.
In addition, we’ve established the Duff & Phelps Chair in Business Analysis & Valuation at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University, the first endowed professorship in Europe to concentrate on connections between capital markets and financial reporting.
What does diversity mean at Duff & Phelps? We foster an environment that encourages you to be yourself and gives you the freedom to advance in your career. Experience has taught us that a diverse workforce is the best way to deliver smarter solutions to an increasingly diverse business world. As an organization, we think globally—and encourage our people to do the same. As we continue to grow, we welcome new voices and different perspectives. Why? Because we know that unique personalities and insight have been key to our success.
We are committed to extending opportunities without cultural boundaries. That’s why we continually search for unique and diverse candidates, support and attend events for minority-focused associations across the United States, and provide articles and information on careers in minority-focused publications. These include the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ (NACE) Diversity Edition of Job Choices magazine and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA). We have established relationships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and numerous NAACP local units, and we sponsor high-profile events at top business universities in support of such groups as the Asian Business Association (ABA) and the National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA).
What does all of this mean for you? When you bring your perspective to Duff & Phelps, you’ll find an inclusive, entrepreneurial setting that supports your goals and respects your talents. Together, we will work to create an environment where your only limit will be your own ambition.
Duff & Phelps is committed to providing equal opportunities in employment. We will not discriminate between applicants for reasons of gender, race, religion, color, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, age, or disability.

I applied online. The process took a day – interviewed at Duff & Phelps (London, England) in December 2014.
The whole experience was a bit of a joke. They had me fly to London from abroad (no travel expenses covered), and sit a written test for 30 minutes with about 40 questions on stochastic calculus, programming in C++ and quantitative finance, not too tricky but difficult to finish in time.
After I finished the test, an indian manager came into the room to know a bit about my background, although he hadn't even bothered reading my CV. We talked about my aspirations, and some easy probability questions. At some point, this person tried to convince me that the combination number C(n,k) was actually bigger than n!/k! while we were discussing a problem. I thought he was testing my knowledge, but then found out he was genuinely convinced that it was so. Just shocking. It kind of gave me a bad impression of the company and the level there.
After I was done with my interview, I waited for two months only to find out that the job had to be put on hold for budget reasons. So I pretty much wasted my money and time interviewing for this company. I was offered a better job elsewhere later so didn't care too much.
