Host Hotels & Resorts offers excellent salary packages and benefits. Their headquarters in Bethesda is centrally-located in the DC Metro area with adequate access to public transportation, restaurants and shopping.

Host Hotels & Resorts is all fluff and no substance. Top management lacks strong leadership skills. There is no accountability nor is honesty and integrity valued. Everything is centered on the bottom line and sealing the deal, regardless of associate sacrifices or complaints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review your core values and consider taking courses in leadership development. Nothing is worse than having a carrot dangling in your face with the hope that relief is just around the corner. Too many top performers are being overlooked due to incompetent and fearful management who lack leadership skills and abilities.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at Host Hotels & Resorts in April 2013.

    Interview Details

I had a phone interview with them, it went well. They have a beautiful facility. I went in for an interview and it was very quick, the interview lasted less than 3 minutes. I assumed they had no interest in hiring me at all once I met the hiring manager. They promptly made me take an online finance exam which consisted of questions that I hadnt touched since college.

Host Hotels & Resorts will leave the chandelier on for you. The largest hotel real estate investment trust (REIT) in the US, Host Hotels owns about 120 luxury and upscale hotels with some 63,000 rooms in North America, South America, and Europe. Its properties are managed by third parties; most operate under the Marriott brand and are managed by sister firm Marriott International. Other primary brands include Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, and Westin. To maintain its REIT status, which carries tax advantages, Host operates through majority-owned Host Hotels & Resorts LP.
