Current Employee - Principal Engineer in Kings Langley, England

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (more than an year)

+ Growing company with lots of young engineers, good mix of young and experienced engineers
+ Depending upon which division you're in you'd be encouraged to challenge yourself and others to make contributions for the right reasons
+ Much less politics than some other organizations
+ If you're constructive, people like to listen to you
+ Gym options, sports and social, shares and stock options, private health insurance (free for the employee)
+ You're encouraged to say the truth and do the right thing, in some case you're rewarded for doing so

+ Training and other processes are somewhat younger than other organizations, but then there is a concerted effort to make things better
+ Generally good with infrastructure, but in some cases have gone overboard with styling and architecture and less focus on providing some essentials such as whiteboards
+ No talent recognition system, no plans to make sure the best employees get rewarded and the not so good ones managed out
+ No individual bonuses to a vast majority of employees
+ Salaries could be better given the proximity to London and cost of living

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

+ Think about employee retention a bit more
+ Have a talent recognition system
+ Prune the dead wood out

    Positive Outlook

Anonymous Employee in Kings Langley, England
Anonymous Employee in Kings Langley, England
    Application Details

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies in September 2014.

    Interview Details

At first I had to complete an online test. The questions weren't difficult and everyone in the hardware field should know them. After that test (after some days) I had a telephone interview with the senior engineer of the team. The interview also wasn't difficult and most of the questions were identical with the ones of online test. After that they informed be to go to their company for face2face interview. There they were also friendly and I think it wasn't that difficult too (There is the probability I didn't get to the hard part too)

    Interview Questions
    • At first they asked implementing some sort of function with hardware. After that do it with less hardware. After that design on board a state machine recognising some specific series of 0s and 1s.
Finally implementing multiplication of 8 bit numbers with 4 bit multipliers + whatever I needed.
Also they asked about read after write problems to processors and things on computer architecture.
Also they asked me things on my Thesis.
