Marketo is the revenue performance management company, transforming how marketing and sales teams of all sizes work — and work together — to accelerate predictable revenue. Marketo’s solutions are both powerful and easy to use, providing explosive revenue growth throughout the revenue cycle from the earliest stages of demand generation and lead management to deal close and continued customer loyalty.

Known for providing breakthrough innovation and explosive growth, Marketo won the 2010 CODiE award for ‘Best Marketing Solution’, and was voted 'Best Marketing Automation Application' and 'Best Mass Emails Solution' by Salesforce customers on the Force.com AppExchange.

Marketo was founded in 2006 by the world-class marketing software executives who transformed B2C marketing at Epiphany. They started Marketo with a mission to change the way marketing and sales teams collaborate throughout the revenue cycle by re-imagining the impact of B2B marketing automation and sales effectiveness solutions on revenue growth.

I have been working at Marketo full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

If you do good work here you are rewarded - if you want to see how companies in the valley function this is a great place to be. Some of the smartest hard working people are here and you feel part of a strong brand. The products work, and the customer roster is strong.

    Cons

The hours will be long and not all managers are created equally. Some are opportunists, some actually care. Snacks and lunches are good but that's table stakes at most companies in the valley. As the company's grown that has meant more policies and procedures - some make sense, others feel like needless bureaucracy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation needs to be competitive or your best will leave. Mean what you say about company values. No more "behinds in seats" mentality just to make things look busy - trust your staff, treat people like adults, manage by exception.

Organized and straight to the point, they won't BS you. Had a phone screen that went well. Brought onsite a week later; interviewing with four separate people, all giving feedback afterwards. Called with job offer before even making it home. Nothing too tricky, they will know right away if you're a good fit.
